  1. They don’t get it; we have to compete in a world market so if our cost of production is higher were less competitive. Our standard of living goes down. If you believed Climate change was worth the cost of fighting keeping the consumer carbon tax would make more sense. Maybe someone would buy a Camary instead of a F150 to drive to work. Destroying our farms and industry is just making sure were broke.

        1. Which you can’t do ever since the demise of Greyhound busses a long time ago in a “multipass ticket” universe that no longer exists.
I am old enough to recall my greyhound milk run ride from ontario to bc in the early 70s.
You could get on and off the bus and spend time along the way, for $75 bucks.

        2. That’s not very Liberal of you. Only a select few should be mobile. Want/need to move? Put in the necessary application in French and English after consulting your locsl Native Elder.

    1. What ever it takes, fight the liberals and anything they’re selling. Whores all.

    2. despite, currently at least but who knows later on, our elected representatives certainly in cabinet positions where the decisions are first debated, it seems to me a patter is evident, Canadian born politicians somehow at some point forget the distances involved in going from ‘a’ to ‘b’ in Canada is a lot further between large centres than say USA. ie they gots lots more big cities and thus avg distance significantly less.

but none of this is continually addressed with the carbon crap. why is that?

basically there a lot of carbon flung into the air getting places in Canaduh. why is this not a constant factor with green energy as it is a very important aspect? regardless which is your personal opinion or situation or measures we take individually.

bottom line l have ZEEEERO faith in the present and soon to be leadership. none.

  2. Just remember friends, no matter how much you hate the #media, it isn’t enough.

  3. It is simply not possible to somehow, some way “fight climate change”

Human activity does not cause the earth’s climate to change.

Climate change is a natural process. Nothing we can do will stop the climate from changing.

    1. Furthermore, even if Canada stopped ALL CO2 emissions, which are 1.6% of the world’s total of manmade CO2, China will have made up for that small reduction in a year or two with their new coal-fired powerplants that they’re building constantly.

But liberals and leftists, including the mainstream media, do not understand math. At all. Percent? What’s that?

      1. .04% of Earth’s atmosphere is CO2. .03 of that .04 is manmade. It makes no difference. It’s stupid.

        We should be burning tires.

        1. I thought 3.9%. of the 0.04,was the human contribution. Either way it’s trivial, trivial. Just ludicrous to believe we control the climate.

        2. It isn’t stupid. It’s by design, and deliberate. They don’t care about you or me or anyone else except themselves. The whole climate scare is designed to make them richer, and more powerful, by making us poorer, and more subservient.

      2. Canada’ emissions are closer to 1% as Trudeau kept our economy from growing while others did, and China and India combined replace Canada’s total emissions every 5 months. Even if you bought the junk science, it doesn’t matter, we are becoming broke strictly to virtue signal. Canada can change nothing.

    2. Exactly, and there is significant evidence that this is the case. So I must wonder if Carney is dumb enough to believe in AGW, or if he is deliberately scamming to support the globalist interests. Either way, his position is a black mark.

  4. Muh make the greedy corporations pay! Eat the Rich! Down with the Man! What is the NDP going to run on now?

  5. When 1/3rd are government workers and 1/3rd are on welfare.. People will vote for the dumbest things.. After all, money comes out of a unicorns rear end..

  6. Now that Trump has stated he prefers Carney over Polievre, will the Liberal faithful abandon him or stick with him?

I’m betting they will stick with the banker.

    1. Judging by the furious reaction of Liberals on X when Rosie Barton dared to question the wisdom of Maximum Leader, the Liberal party is turning into a cult. They’ll pretty much put up with anything at this point.

    2. The narrative has already been established. The media will go for the “Even Trump has more respect for Carney than Poilievre.”

Yeah, yeah… I know. That would be the double standard. PP is like Trump. PP is bad. Trump likes Carney. Carney is good.

Do you think they actually care what we think?

  7. According to the IPCC, if Canada’s emissions went to zero, global warming would be deferred by one Celsius degree in 4000 years. Everyone, including the Conservatives, is hiding this from Canadians.

As an aside, it is entertaining to watch American left loonies attack Musk and vanadalize Tesla cars. Most of them are owned by their virtue signalling comrades.

    1. It is definitely Democrat on Democrat violence. But why think when you can emote? These clowns would make splendid Canadians, maybe they could be offered the chance, and a thinking Canadian gets to go free for every one who accepts.

      1. Peter,
I believe you are onto something. Is it conceivable Trump wants control of Canada, so that all the American lunatics can be sent there?

  8. Much of the consumer carbon tax is offset by rebates. The real cost is in the industrial carbon tax, which is passed onto the consumer in the form of higher prices.

So Carney is going to double the carbon tax while convincing Canadians he’s doing away with it. That’s a neat trick.

    1. The consumer carbon tax had the effect of being a money redistribution scheme masquerading as a Pingou tax to modify behaviour, and it wasn’t even good at that.

Carney’s second attempt won’t be any better.

  9. Anyone who refers to carbon dioxide as “pollution” is a scientifically ignorant neo-Marxist ideologue whose ultimate aim, if realized, would result in the extermination of the human race. The correlation between energy consumption and such basic indicators of societal activity as GDP per capita, infant mortality, etc., is stark and empirically undeniable. Carney, every last liberal, every dipper, and every “green”, want you to die. It’s as simple as that.

In policy, as in homicide, intent follows the bullet. The population are entitled to view the obvious and easily predictable outcome of the policies set by these madmen as their intentions. Carney’s vision of the future mirrors that of his Eurocrat fellow travellers: a Covid lockdown, complete with police brutality, frozen bank accounts, and neighbours informing on neighbours, stamping on the human face.

    Forever.

    Vote accordingly.

    1. Golf clap, good sir.
It is 13 O Clock in the year of our Ford, where truth is indeed stranger than fiction.
      Or…Well…
      Have a nice day.

  10. The big polluters are the companies that deliver your electricity and put gas / diesel in your tank. They will pay? Or we will pay them and they pay the government? Asking for a friend.

    1. All taxes are eventually paid for by the individual tax payer without exception, but most of it is opaque.

  11. In the flavor of other tree loving nonsense: Greenpeace took one on the chin today. $667 Million. Ouch!

If you’re going to commit defamation, trespass, nuisance, civil conspiracy and other acts, best not do it in a Red State.

  12. The chocolate ration has been increased from 50 grams to 30 grams a week!
    Yay!
    I love Big Brother!!!
    -Canadians.

  13. So the Liberals are going to grow the economy by increasing taxation.
That’s like growing housing availability by increasing immigration.

  14. I will ask Brian Z. the same question again … which has a greater negative impact on his Canadian Oilpatch jobs … Your own nations WAR and TAXATION on all fossil fuels … or Trump’s tariffs? Give me the spreadsheet comparison.

Intelligent … non-reactionary … emotionally mature people would like to know.

Blaming Trump for everyone’s ills is … is … simply LAZY

    1. Trump inflicts tariffs on some of our export industries, so the government’s solution is to punish Canadians with higher taxation, and less choices as revenge for Trump hurting some industries.

    2. I disagree Kenji. The Liberals always use Alinsky’s tactic of identifying the enemy then pounding on that theme endlessly. It has worked in the past. They were about to lose the next election, now they have not only a saviour, but an enemy to hate as well!

What could be better for the Liberal party and their base?

      1. Don, you’re right. The average Canadian will never stop to ask or consider my simple question, or bother to do the math … but will react emotionally to the Nationalist (post-Nationalist?) war against Trump. Get him! Burn him! He’s a witch!

        1. It is proven theory that Canadians will thrive more under the stewardship of the CCP than they would under Donald John.

  15. Blubber Dougie just shuffled cabinet by switching one bunch of misfits to another bunch of misfits while continuing to rant on about DJT . The media who by the way hate Ford keep turning up the heat on their quest for an all out trade / social war with the US of A that we can never win . Taking a step backward for one moment is it the American’s fault that Canada has become a complete failure as a nation . Food banks across each province are overwhelmed, we are last of 50 developed nations with regard to GDP / capita , housing affordability off the charts and a government by fiat that treats its citizens like chattel. Add open borders , CCP influence and crazy tariffs on dairy ,poultry and pork and here we are ,it’s all about Trump . Canadians need to grow a spine and deal with these issues rather than childish name calling .

    1. Waiting for all other choices to be destroyed.
Western options are shrinking and solidifying nicely.
Reducing the emotional content will result in a much more perfect union.
      And most Westerners already know.
      We have not moved.
      Canada left us.

    1. That which was experienced by each liberal that summer in high school when they lost their virginity. (Your mileage may vary).

  16. Fighting climate change is like fighting the rotation of the earth, in fact Superman says it’s even more difficult.

“You wanna see climate change, check out Krypton.”

  17. Well, A&W couldn’t sell a 1/3 pound burger at a similar price to McDonald’s 1/4 pounder, because people believe that 1/3 is SMALLER than 1/4……..a 3 is smaller than a 4……….

    And these people vote…….
