British Columbia’s NDP government tabled legislation last week that, if enacted as is, would give it sweeping powers to pass regulations without having to bother with the tedious obligation of asking for the blessing of the provincial legislature.
Voters are starting to sniff out a pandemic spending spree, but this time the reason is tariffs. They’re giddy at the thought of another golden age where they could be paid not to work.
What could possibly go wrong?

I have a relative with severe TDS who lives on Vancouver Island. She, no doubt, would be thrilled with this development because, since Trump is Hitler to the nth power, no measure to keep us “Canadian” would be too much.

I have a sister in law who lives in Kalispel, MT … who is similarly unhinged with terminal TDS. Her disease is inoperable … and highly contagious as she refuses to mask her raging virus from her own children and grandchildren … she refuses to separate her infection by at least 6-feet, if not a 10ft pole from her own extended family.
The relative I referred to got bent out of shape because I didn’t watch Jean Chretien’s speech at the Blarney coronation a week and a half ago. It was the same speech in which JC told Trump to knock it off and, if I heard correctly, even suggested burning the White House like what happened over 200 years ago.
By the way, Canadians didn’t set fire to Washington in that war–the British did. Many parliamentarians in Westminster condemned the action as barbaric, the equivalent of what we consider a war crime today. It makes one wonder just what Chretien was thinking when he made that comment.
