    In any event Canada needs fewer not more elections. I see no reason not to let PM Carney cook. We need good options and ideas, not the idiotic soundbites and terrible policies that another election at this time would produce.

  2. Liberals and legitimacy are two words that will never occupy the same hemisphere. Elections, what’s the point, especially when political parties in Canada are fixed beyond any imagination. Federal and provincial ones too. Ruby Dhalla, Martha Hall Findley, Leslyn Lewis and Shelly Glover could testify to that. What?? You really thought Doug Ford was the best Conservative? You thought Trudeau actually won three elections?

    And you wonder why the government would feel compelled to seize rights? We’re talking about a population here that requires safety warnings on buckets to not fall in upside down.

  3. Furey is right; Carney has no legitimacy, never having been elected to anything. He hasn’t even passed muster as a Member of Parliament.

    But it’s more than just Carney. There is no government of Canada at the moment. There hasn’t been one for months since the government was found guilty of contempt of parliament by withholding documents as ordered by the House. So not only does Carney have no legitimacy; the party of which he is the national leader has no legitimacy either.

    1. William Aberhart became premier of Alberta in 1935 despite not having run in the election himself. Aberhart had not expected the Social Credit Party to win, at least not so soon, and initially didn’t even want to be premier. In the event, he was sworn in in September 1935, but didn’t win a seat in the legislature until a by-election in November.

      So it’s not Carney’s having no seat in the Commons that’s the problem. It’s that he doesn’t enjoy the confidence of the overwhelming majority of the people of Canada, as Trudeau never has.

      Aberhart really did have a mandate from the people of Alberta to carry out real economic and political reform along social credit principles. That’s why the federal Liberals and their propaganda machine did all in their power to stop him short of assassination—and in 2025, they might have well goaded some Diverse lunatic into stabbing or shooting Bible Bill to death in broad daylight.

      1. Aberhart was not prime minister of Canada. He was only premier of Alberta. And he ran to get a seat as soon as possible when one of his own resigned. He understood that legitimacy requires being in the Alberta legislature. Why don’t you?

    And why not? Both are CCP assets. If Beijing had believed for a minute that Farrell was the sort of person who’d do the right thing and take the side of Trump against Beijing, Farrell would not be Tory leader today. Farrell might not even be alive today. Ditto Carney on both counts.

    Kate’s right. What we need is a new country. And thanks to Trump we might just get one delivered by an American tank. Faster, please, Mr. President.

  5. Who really is Carney? Where’s his wife? I know he’s married…so why isn’t she with him? Does he have kids? If so where are they? Is his primary residence in England? So how does that work?
    I mean, who is this guy?

    I heard he’s Trudeau’s stepfather’s uncle. Yeah, that was hard to wrap my head around that also.

    1. They “live” in Ottawa, she’s been the senior advisor with Gerald Butts since May of 2021, at Eurasia Group.

      Natural Resources Canada has given 2 contracts to Eurasia Group worth $383,169.45 (2021) and $446,210.91(2024) both of which were sole sourced on the basis of “Only one person is capable of performing the contract”.

      She also said that her husband’s $7700 per week housing allowance was insufficient when he was hired at the bank of England, while he was making $1 million per year. She will be very disappointed with the new digs.

  8. Carney doesn’t even have the legitimacy to fly to Europe and discuss any matters with other world leaders. He shouldn’t even have a government charge acct., as he hasn’t passed, even the low bar of being elected as an MP, little lone PM.
    That’s why I contend that the election won’t be called quickly, he could rule us till early fall 2026. You know, just so we can get to know him better,,, prove me wrong Ol’ Man Carney.

  10. It seems that Carney is not likely to call a snap election. It’s very possible that the Lib’s internal polling don’t show the same results as the endless garbage being currently shoved into the public view. There’s also the problem that most people view PM Carney as a floating abstraction. They don’t really associate him with any particular policy or act of governance. This could take months to create. In the meantime, the Libs run the almost guaranteed risk that whoever is in power will take the blame for the recession that we are now in.

I feel like we’re in 2021 America where they installed a cognitively deficient puppet controlled by others. Can you see a difference? Maybe not cognitively deficient but I consider globalism the same type of ailment.
