Time To Leave?

If I were a resident of the Western Cape province in South Africa, I’d currently be supporting separation from the rest of the country. Failing that, I’d be looking for another country to move to.

In a post on X on Sunday, Nazier Paulsen, a Cape-based MP for the EFF, called for the execution of Cape independence supporters.

This followed a call by Paulsen for his followers to find the IP addresses of secessionists and locate where they live.

You can find this thug’s Twitter feed here. Warning: it’s all very nauseating stuff.

    1. He had one thing right on his Twitter feed: “Only a dictator deploys the military on citizens.”. At least that is how it works in Canada.

  1. the EFF has a policy of “Kill the Boer” and they sing it at their rallies.

But South Africa is willing to accuse Israel of genocide, while ignoring those in their own parliament who are calling for genocide.

  2. I guess the EFF wants to be the Iron Guard of South Africa…

When someone shows you who they are…

  3. Afraid so.

If I was over there as a European decendant with a business or a profession, I would seek an exit strategy. There are enough examples of how things went poorly for them in earlier such national events.

  4. There are a lot of expat South Africans in my country, and in my line of work. As a rule, they are diligent, courteous, conscientious, reliable, thoughtful colleagues. As a bonus, during the great hysteria of 2020, if anyone in my circles stuck their neck out to reveal any common sense understanding of what was going on, it was never a Canadian, never Australian, not English, not Kiwi, only South Africans, one after another. Great people.
