  1. “Seniors Trust TV Network News”
I’m 76 and I don’t trust the bastards. How do they come up with this tripe?

  2. Firstly – its Not About You.
Its clearly about the majority and if you’re here at SDA, then its obvious you’re not one of them and neither am I (at age 62).

    Seniors trust the MSM?
    Well duh.
They grew up with it and nobody ever told them to look elsewhere.
I’ve got a brother who was telling me “facts” in the summer – he reads the G&M, the Star FFS, and the NYT. He actually gets physical papers.
    I don’t bother telling him he’s a retard.

  3. This senior (77) does not trust network news. I worked in media for more than 30 years and know the biases and spins that masquerade as story meetings. So I do not trust any news source, and ensure that I check half a dozen sources before making up my mind about a story. The so-called legacy media is bought and paid for. The substack and podcast sources each have their own points of view (SDA included). To understand our complex geopolitical world, we not only have to mine many sources, but must also have a sense of history and a healthy dose of skepticism.

  4. No informed, sane person trusts MSM regardless of their age. I suspect there is a far stronger correlation between advanced age and failure to use the internet than there is between age and faith in MSM.

  5. In 1974 … my HS offered an elective English class titled: Mass Media. In that class we learned to be skeptical of everything being pushed by the mass media; advertising, news, politics, science … everything.

My congenital skepticism came full bloom after this incredible class taught by a remarkably competent HS … professor … can’t call him a HS “teacher” as he knew his shit. Inside out.
