National Post- Feds begin search for vendors to operate firearm confiscation program
Last month, an Invitation to Qualify (ITQ) was issued by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) on behalf of Public Safety Canada, seeking to pre-qualify suppliers interested in administering the federal Firearms Buyback Program (FBP), responsible for collecting and eventually destroying over 1,500 firearm models banned under the federal government’s May 1 2020 order-in-council.

Mother, should I trust the government?
Mother, will they put me in the firing line?
Ooh
Is it just a waste of time?
Hush now baby, baby, don’t you cry
Mama’s gonna make all of your nightmares come true
Mama’s gonna put all of her fears into you
Mama’s gonna keep you right here under her wing
She won’t let you fly but she might let you sing
Mama’s gonna keep baby cosy and warm
Ooh baby
Ooh baby
Ooh baby, of course mama’s gonna help build the wall
Q: Why do they want to disarm the people?
A: Because they don’t want to get shot at when they try to load them onto boxcars.
I remember when a Liberal government tried to force Canadian gun owners to register their firearms and it was an expensive failure. Projected cost was 2 million, actual cost 1 billion. The majority of rifle owners refused to register their guns. Police turned a blind eye.
Gun Confiscation will be a bigger, more expensive failure. The Trudeau Liberal-NDP government will be lucky to get 10% compliance from gun owners.
@LC Bennett – “Liberal-NDP government will be lucky to get 10% compliance from gun owners”
They said nothing about the supposed “buy back”, like how much are they offering for each firearm and how do they determine what is “fair value” as they put it?
I recall some youtube video’s where some US cities/ municipalities would offer a “firearms buy-back” for a straight up payout of $150 per firearm regardless of condition. Some enterprising individuals were collecting any rusted hunk of junk they could find and then sold them back to the city. Some even turned in working homemade junk they assembled for $10.00 with Home Depot plumbing supplies and collected their $150 in return.
I can see Liberal Party affiliated groups doing that sort of thing. A great way to launder money, pay off friends and defraud taxpayers.
IIRC, the Saskatchewan government has made it virtually impossible for Ottawa to confiscate any rifles in this province. Through legislation they’ve created an almost impenetrable, expensive bureaucratic maze to be able to get the guns. That includes independent assessment of the value and an appeals process. Plus making it all but impossible to get a sask government permit to confiscate guns, ballistics analysis requirements, extensive storage and transport rules, etc.
in Alberta the feds just declared a climate crisis and raided High River
That was Red Redford the UN puppet, Danielle was present as Wildrose back then to disavow the illegal High River confiscations. Hope she sticks to her claims of not honouring the current Federal mandates going forward, I believe she will hold her ground.

How do they “buy back” what they never owned? I will remain in Wisconsin, well armed and happy.
“How do they “buy back” what they never owned?”
They lie easily, no differently than saying they have our best interests at heart.
The US has it’s own go-around over firearm banning as Canada does. It’s simply depends what state or city you live in as to how far they get. Some are as draconian as the Canadian Liberal bans.
Oh that’s for sure. I live in a small town in Central Wisconsin. Unlike Madison or Milwaukee, not a lot of gun grabbers around here.
Don’t count on it Thomas
State Supreme Court has already been bought. Redistricting begins shortly.
And there’s always the old stand by of bribing homeless people and college students to take a bus ride. Gotta love same day voter registration.

In the case of the AR15, they are registered and they have a pretty good idea where they are.
The non-restricted that are banned, I would agree 10%.

I predict sales of preservation grease will go up along with lots of canoeing accidents.
Canada… Sooo many lakes. Sooo many canoeing accidents transporting guns to the cabin.
In Australia when their guns were taken, I saw stories where 6″ PVC pipe was sold out for months.
Some provinces have indicated they will not comply with anything to do with confiscation of private property. Confiscation is the next step.
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?”
I can’t find the old thread, this was posted a couple months ago..
They only got one serious applicant before they had to shut it down.
I think “Blackiedoesyoungboys, LLC” was in the lead last I saw.

confiscating firearms came early in true liberal fashion.
What would things have been like [in Russia(soon to be north america)] if during periods of mass arrests people had not simply sat there, paling with terror at every bang on the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people?
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
“ Drug traffickers often possess guns to protect themselves and their drugs, said Lipson.”
That’s “Justice Lipson” dropping charges against a thug. I don’t know if this is the same judge who said it was reasonable for drug dealers to carry firearms and dismissed charges.

our “gun rights” lobby should be using what judges say and commit lawfare against the liberal establishment to expand rights for everyone, that would be worth supporting instead of the erosion of rights the lobby tries to fight against as a last resort when it’s too late
I don’t know how it is in Canada, but in the U.S. there is an unknown, but huge number of legacy firearms. Legacy firearms are the guns handed down by dad or grampa and many of those were bought from friends and neighbors before being passed along. There is no telling where many, heck most! of the guns produced in the 1900s have wound up. The Feds know this, and the only solution will be a door-to-door search for any firearms.
In the U.S., many have parked some of their guns with friends and neighbors or stashed a few in hidey holes that won’t be found by even a heavy, thorough search.
But as I wrote above, I don’t know if Canadians will still have access to a lot of legacy firearms even if ever a confiscation sweep is conducted. I’m sure there will be some that escape confiscation, though.
Every genocide begins the same.
Shrug. It’ll be some cabinet minister’s brother-in-law who gets the exclusive license to rip us off.
