We are inundated with claims about the “energy transition.”
In February, E&E News, reporting on the State of the Union speech said, “President Joe Biden laid out his vision for the energy transition Tuesday night.” In March, a reporter for Politico declared “The U.S. energy transition is well underway.”
Also in March, during a speech at the CERAWeek conference in Houston, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said that “As this transition progresses, our energy mix will change.” Or consider the March 9 press release from the White House, which said “The Administration is continuing to implement the Inflation Reduction Act, which is already galvanizing our clean energy transition and making clean and energy efficient technologies more affordable for American families.”
I could list many more examples like the ones above. But the hard truth is this: the energy transition isn’t. The numbers from the just-released Statistical Review of World Energy show, once again, that despite rapid growth in wind and solar, those two forms of energy are not even keeping pace with the growth in hydrocarbons. That’s true both globally and in the U.S.

I’ve always thought that as we get more energy from wind then the amount of wind will decrease.
Energy of motion, as in air in motion, aka wind, is kinetic energy. If you take the kinetic energy from the wind and turn it into electric energy via a wind turbine, there is no longer kinetic energy in the air, now no wind.
The only thing this “transition” is going to give us is Romania in the late 1980s, when the power was on only one hour a day if you were lucky.
Don’t give them any ideas.
Surely Justin and Joe should have transitioned to solar powered dirigibles by now?
And the dirigibles can be filled with green hydrogen.
As long as we have so many enviro-loonies in the government,it’s only going to get worse. When you consider Butts, Guilebeault, Wilkinson, Trudeau, and their friends Liz May and jagmeet Singh who are also green loonies, it’s a wonder we haven’t been subjected to more bans and taxes.
Climate emergency! And probably 75% of Canadians believe it’s a real issue.
I hope and pray for a severely cold winter in Eastern Canada.

Never mind that President Biden and his entire cokehead cabinet are complete morons. For example, the brilliant Jennifer Granholm who claimed that the US government had no ability to influence oil production. I guess she missed 2016 to 2020.
There is nothing to transition to. Without fossil fuels the so called elite will also die as will billions of others. They will achieve what they want by just using all the fossil fuels, no need to make people stop using them.
