    1. Not lies at all; scientific adjustments to account for little warming :^) The adjustments are done in such a way as to cool the earlier periods of whichever temperature series is being analyzed. This creates warming without actally distorting the current temperature, which can be readily verified while the earlier temperatures must be taken on faith.

  2. And it works. Most people (myself included) don’t remember what they had for lunch yesterday much less what the warming numbers were 5 years ago. Although it was salad that I had yesterday for lunch, the same thing I just ate today and lunch for the past 3 weeks as I planted way too much lettuce….

    Give over thinking to the “experts”. They know better, and science is always pure.

  5. Canada did the same thing. Replaced the actual hot temperatures from the record (such as from the 1930s) with ‘model adjusted’ temperatures, which are much cooler. That way we can experience new ‘record’ heat.

      As of yesterday we have not reached 100° for 291 straight days.

      This breaks the all-time longest streak of consecutive days under 100° set in 1964-65 (290 days)

      I wonder if the 1964-65 streak was used as evidence of the New Ice Age predictions of the 1970’s??

    2. Here in Ontario, Kenji, the Federal government “Envitronment Canada” is issueing “multi-day heat” warnings, AKA “It’s Summer, folks”. As Grog say, there is no science anymore, it is all politics now because government is the main funding source.

      1. Yup. What used to be called a beautiful summer day nowadays rates extreme heat warnings, humidex cautions, and loads of unnecessary advice.

        1. It sure is nice to be able to wear shorts and golf shirts. To be able to play golf and then have a swim in the pool or the lake. Enjoy it will not last all that long, it never does in canada.

  7. It will be interesting to see how they rationalize this summer’s weather relative to farming in the US. Farmers across the country were forced to delay crop planting due to the cold temperatures that went deep into May. Some farmers were predicting a 10% drop in overall corn production as a result.

    And, still, come October the various mega-phone media will label it the “hottest summer on record” as they always do.

  8. Looks like ‘climate change’ is out and we’re back to ‘global warming’ with the garbage ‘earth reaches it’s hottest temperature ever since recording’ headlines. One thing you’ll never hear addressed with the new propaganda is earth’s exothermic core. Also, we shut down the world for two years which would absolutely reduce our carbon so why is it getting hotter?

    1. Yes; and even CNN admits “in history” as CP24 has claimed today and re. July 3rd specifically, means from 1979. [I think that’s when temperature-reading satellites first fully covered the globe’s surface.]

        Since 1979 global temperatures appear to have warmed at the rate of 1.4 degrees K per century.

        However, the current “hot spells” don’t come anywhere near to the “dust bowl” era records set tin the 1930’s.

        1. PJ, exactly right. It is incredibly convenient to omit the hottest decade of the past 100 years when claiming that recent years are the “hottest in ever.” As if 1979 were the beginning of time.

  9. I’ve noticed that the colors used on weather maps have changed. The temperatures are the same but the colors are “hotter”

    What used to be blue has shifted to green, green to yellow, yellow to orange, etc.

    Makes the whole map look red and angry.

      I’m sick and tired of the weather-talking-heads endlessly going on about the ‘feels like’ upward adjusted daily temps, instead of the the plain unvarnished highs.
      Eg ‘forecast high 22C… FEELS LIKE 28C’

  11. Policy based evidence manufacturing is so much more predictable,than actually recording what the thermometer is reading.
    Actual data?
    Now that has a nasty habit of contradicting the narrative or leaving the possible conclusions ambiguous..Not useful for “Environment Canada’s Science”..

    One of the ironies of Cataclysmic Climate,is that either they did not know what they were doing,prior to 1990..Or They do not know what they have been doing since..
    So which set of data is unusable?
    As has been noted for decades..1.4C is less than the error bar for the temperature record..
    +/- 1 C ,a 2 degree band of noise.

    And then the ultimate fiction..The “Global Average Temperature” to 3 decimal points..
    With no error bar.

    Garbage in Gospel out.

    1. With no error bar and almost no measurements before the satellite era. It’s interesting to note that, geogrphically, the supposed temp rise is inversely proportional to the density of measurements.

  13. Climate scientists are hired to promote and sell global warming, AKA climate change.. A given, atheist’s don’t become priests.. Exactly why we don’t have a ministry of empirical evidence yet is anybody’s guess?.. No money in it I suppose..

    So.. They float their environmental cause on a ocean of tax dollars.. About the only thing that works as planned.. Reality doesn’t care..
    Wind and solar suck and batteries will never fill the gap.. Even if it did imagine the energy a gas engine could produce with that technology..

    Banning progress is a bad idea..

  14. No one lies more regularly and convincingly than government agencies. Remember: Safe and effective. There is no such thing as myocardia, and fit young athletes are not dying by the hundreds.
