  1. Shame we here in the USA have to get the news about ourselves from the British newspapers.

  2. How do people let themselves get like this?

Isn’t there any part of them that is frightened or disgusted at being a functionally useless homeless person with scars?

    1. Two words, brain damage. Their brains are damaged by the drugs, they can’t appreciate how f-ed they are. Meth is particularly bad these days, and the synthetic canabinoids are horrifying. One hit and you get brain damage. Like the fried egg in the old commercial.

And they MIX them. A dash of this, a pinch of that, a drop of fentanyl to give it that super-duper buzz, and then shoot it straight into a vein. If you dry them out for six months and get them all cleaned up, they’re still brain damaged. It doesn’t go away. They don’t get better.

These people are not like the heroine addicts we’re used to. Opioids are bad enough, but this new stuff is a death sentence. Slow-motion capital punishment.

      1. I know about the effects of drugs.

I would just like to now what darkness or idiotic flight of fancy makes people do this to themselves and others.

    1. Trudeau’s Canada is just as bad. Canada’s numbers are smaller, but we are working on that.

Big Canadian cities are filled with the multicultural diseases … but hey … c’mon down … everything you need is free.

  3. Its certainly not just the homeless that are shameless addicts.
Peoplekind everywhere are medicated up the wazoo.
“I take a happy pill” some say. WTF? Who brags about that?
I’ve seen zombies everywhere, some either well-dressed or at least certainly not homeless and many looking lobotomized and I bet you have as well. And not a couple people, but dozens and dozens, with dead or shark-like eyes, devoid of purpose or reason.
It’s a plague or an epidemic and its another indictment on modern, urban living.

The current Bell adds that spews the, “One in four people suffer from anxiety” almost makes me want to shoot the TV.

      1. Oh my goodness I couldn’t agree more. As a rule I hardly ever watch TV but I sat through a partial episode of “Dateline” or “48 Hrs” (Can’t remember which one) along with the wife the other night and as interesting as the topic was the commercials made me bail out about halfway through.
        I mean, I just couldn’t take it.

      2. Bell has ads on billboards everywhere spewing this stuff.
“1 in 2 people suffering don’t get the support they need” and “800 people attempt suicide every day”
Yeah, that’s after they get their monthly cable bill.

    1. ~~makes me want to shoot the TV. ~~

      Now you’re onto something!

The yellow rag ‘The Record’ has Dilbert. The saturday edition is hilarious.

    2. Only one in four have anxiety in Canada? Does someone else pay the bills for the other three?

  4. These are broken, spiritually degraded souls and predictable products of the welfare state where personal responsibility has been outsourced to the omniscient state. If they weren’t shooting junk into their veins, they would be guzzling fortified wine and killing themselves differently. My only experience with such people is that religion is likely the most effective solution for addictive people hitting bottom (and wanting do something about it) and my take on religion is that I don’t believe in the hocus pocus but it’s not a bad idea to generally order one’s personal life as if there might be a (Judeo-Christian) God.

    1. John
Well said, tho I have found that a few people I know who used AA to clean up, quit when the preaching started!

  5. The lower class abusing whatever drug is available is nothing new.. Its all a matter of caring to look.. Sorting out the diamonds in the rough (aren’t they all) from the dead enders is near impossible on a wide scale.. Best we can do is cherry pick a few human interest stories and extrapolate that as some sort of solution.. Its not..

Nobody can survive the glare of the camera.. We could just as easily be filming millionaires and politicians in their natural habitat.. Void of all context so we can add our own.. The perfect life is a series of tasks that people are forced to do to fit in.. Where is the answer..

  6. Good news. Drug poisoning deaths in Alberta are down from year before.

Drug poisoning deaths down in Alberta compared to 2021, proportion of opioid deaths up

Drug poisoning deaths in Alberta have once again surpassed the 1,300 mark for a third year in a row.

Data updated this month from the Alberta substance use surveillance system show there were 1,443 drug poisoning deaths in the province from January to November 2022, 1,347 of which were caused by opioids.

“While each life lost to addiction is one too many, we are cautiously optimistic about the continued downward trend since the peak in late 2021,” Colin Aitchison, press secretary for Minister of Mental Health and Addictions Nicholas Milliken, said in a statement.

“1,443 drug poisoning deaths” – that is almost one Titanic!

Titanic, in full Royal Mail Ship (RMS) Titanic, British luxury passenger liner that sank on April 14–15, 1912, during its maiden voyage, en route to New York City from Southampton, England, killing about 1,500.

    1. I’ve always wonder, is the number of drug addicts increasing for some reason, because you would expect that with the overdose lottery, you’d see the population decline over time if you have a lot of overdose deaths

  7. I saw this in person this past summer on my way to a restaurant not too far away from this very area. It’s so disturbing on so many levels. That night I got home and retraced my route on Google street view and sure enough at one spot you can actually see one of these unfortunate people injecting themselves.

  8. This is colloquially known as “pre-MAID” therapy, you know the depopulationists are hard at work supplying all this stuff.

    1. Hey word salad Hans
Worst drug abuse is perq’s, prescription drugs, and they often lead opioids , try staying retentive when posting. You word salads are pretty, butt stupid!

      1. If you don’t like posts you are free to skip over them.

Butt thanks for your expansive knowledge on prescription drug abuse “DOCTOR GYM” 🙂

“try staying retentive when posting”…my plumbing works just fine most of the time, thanks for your concern.

Unlike many interweb places SDA practices mostly free speech, for you word salad, for others red meat.

        Cheers
