Here are Classic Beer Commercials from the 1950’s & 60’s.
Bonus: On this particular day of the year, I would like to celebrate all Mexican women. I have my reasons why! They are unique ladies, with both pros and cons. I couldn’t quite find the perfect video for this day, so instead, please enjoy this comedy bit from Anjelah Johnson-Reyes called Eating Mexican Food in Alabama.

Sounds like nature’s (God’s) biological recipe for survival and evolution (creative improvement). As one half of a sexual union.
But Jason Arday was so much better educated….

I live in a decidedly upper middle class neighborhood … I dropped the extra upper because it sounds pretentious. I have multiple neighbors living in $4M+ homes who are Plumbers and General Contractors.
And that was back when NObody from this town would be caught dead telling Junior League Lady friends their children were … learning a trade.
l tried my darnedest get an appretices-hit. had the equivalent of 1st year documented. no vacancies the refrain. kcuf em. so l got my disability pension started on an excuse.
then l was paid didnt have to work. l had a knack for the stuff, one time *I* the grunt was assigned the task of ‘tucking in’ some more than 20 wires into a conduit corner the type with a cap.
intricate work required laser sharp analytical skill to know the sequence to tug the wires get them all ‘sent home’.
l was also the guy who ‘debugged’ the situation there was a problem mounting the plywood onto steel studs to take the big heavy panels. l deduced and suggested we pre-drill holes in the plywood so as to let the screw points ‘spin’ until they wd bite into the galvanized steel. it worked. saved the day. but stymied for years to get an apprentices-hit started.
I didn’t want to go to college, but as the youngest of four, with my three siblings all having graduated from college, I succumbed to the pressure from M&D (high school graduates) and went. My “career” worked out in the end, not because I was particularly smart or “degreed”, but because I showed up every day, worked hard, and always volunteered for the assignments nobody else wanted (managers always appreciate that!). I retired at 56. Not “wealthy”, but I did okay for myself. A buddy of mine was smart in high school, graduated and immediately apprenticed with his uncle’s electrician’s business, eventually took over the business, and did quite well for himself. There are literally millions of young men today who drank the Kool Aid, went to college at the urging of their liberal teachers/media/society, graduated with worthless degrees, and now are screwed because they can’t get a decent job, and are saddled with immense debt. The trades are the way to go nowadays if you want to get an early jump start in life. And it can pay off handsomely if you’re driven.
I have posted previously about a man whom I knew in the late 1970’s/early 80’s. He was a HVAC Mechanical Contractor and had his boilermaker papers as well. Walter would buy houses, fix them up (or if they were new, he would develop the basement and build a garage) and live in them for 5 years. Then he would sell them and buy another fixer-upper.
I met him again at a wedding in 2015. He owned 3 major businesses (the original HVAC, a commercial roofing company and I forget the third). He was a multi-millionaire and employed accountants and lawyers to help run the businesses. Supremely strong work ethic.

Somehow, that is a very “telling” statement. Also sounds very ghetto.

Perhaps it’s time for some Liberal Witch trials?
“Asylum isn’t supposed to be a loophole to circumvent immigration law.”
US: Trump administration plans to revoke up to 200,000 visas from asylum seekers

“For years, nonimmigrant B1 and B2 visas—designed for brief business trips, family vacations, or medical consultations—had functioned as a tacit back door into the country. Enter on a tourist ticket, overstay the welcome, and file an asylum claim to anchor yourself indefinitely while the courts churned through a legal backlog measured in years.”

80 seems too young to expire these days. Sad. Her persona was always so positive and uplifting … not to mention her philanthropy
