  1. Every time I see him he proves that he is a braggadocious blowhard, an insecure know-it-all, who is hiding the fact that he doesn’t know anything. And this clip proves my observation again.

    1. This “Scientist” is nothing but a FILTHY LIBERAL hack. He has zero credibility on this subject. Like a Good Marxist, he pretends not to know things. He expects you to do the same like a Good POS Marxist.

I hope this EVIL man has been boosted. He looks like he needs another.

  2. Uh…hello…he’s a tv personality, he’s going to protect his number one asset: his salary.

Haven’t you seen any of the main tv channels recently? They all do it.

    He’s not stupid.

    1. Sorry, Warren. I would have to debate about the step up from Nye. I believe both are snake oil salesmen.

  3. Idiot. Or at least not smart enough for engineering. His deflategate tweet showed that. First there was the public math self beclowning. No competent “astrophysicist” would have such problems with math and concepts around atmospheric pressure, particularly of his home planet on which he should have some amount of practical experience. To supposedly mistake PSIA for PSIG is gross incompetence, showing a lack of simple dimensional analysis, (for those that don’t know that’s where you write out the units of everything and cross them out as they cancel to make sure you aren’t mixing apples and oranges in your math) especially as involves public math. Thankfully it was not for any more important purpose, like something structural for a spaceship. Then his “correction” tweet suggested he had no idea what vacuum pressure would do or look like in a soft walled vessel under earth’s atmospheric pressure. Exibit B would be his “f@ckin’ love science”.

    1. Dimensional balance of equations was the single most important thing I learned in physics. You simply can’t solve any problem without understanding this.

  4. So many of these clowns are married to their opinions and positions. It becomes part of who they are.
    That’s not how science works.
I think he’s just a pompous ass that can’t change his mind, though he could also be a liar.

    1. That’s my default with him. Though I’d say “won’t” rather than “can’t”. Too self-important to think he’s ever gotten anything wrong in his life.

  5. I’ve seen this guy speak for years on the interwebs and I don’t give a shee-ite of how much education he’s got, the guy is an idiot, and mostly knows not of which he speaks

  6. Neil DeGrasse Tyson is the Michael Eric Dyson of the scientific world. They are both graduates of the Jesse Jackson school of shuck and jive.

  7. I tried watching him with my kids. His lack of technical ability is obvious but perhaps more importantly to TV, he is not even a good entertainer. Not sure why he rose to the level of stardom aside from the obvious checked demographic boxes.

  8. “The strain evolved” reminds me of the bit in “Dogma” where the bishop says “Mistakes were made.” Funniest thing is that the “It’s not about you” & “Respect the process” arguments fall apart if, you know, the vaccine doesn’t actually work.

  9. He’s also a big promoter of combatting man made climate change. That’s all you need to know.

  10. I am struggling with his theory that there is a social contract on public health issues. It is not at all clear that such a contract actually exists and, if a case can be made for one, that the contract allows the most fearful people to strip anyone of their rights. Has anyone heard this kind of talk around public health issues before (particularly pre-pandemic outside of a dictatorship?)

    1. Years back when my daughter was in school, there was a kid who was allergic to peanuts that was just starting (Gr 1)
Nobody was allowed to bring peanut butter sandwiches or have peanuts in school for 12 years !

      Is that what you mean?
