These people are too stupid to breathe, so they’ve been granted the role as educators.
The University of Southern California’s school of social work will no longer use the word “field” in its curriculum, saying it may have racist “connotations.”
USC’s Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work said the change was critical to support anti-racist social work and inclusivity.
The department specifically decided to remove the word “field” from its curriculum and replace it with “practicum,” according to the letter, which was dated Jan. 9 and shared to Twitter.
“This change supports anti-racist social work practice by replacing language that would be considered anti-Black or anti-immigrant in favor of inclusive language,” the letter said.
The letter continued: “Language can be powerful, and phrases such as ‘going into the field’ or ‘field work’ maybe have connotations for descendants of slavery and immigrant workers that are not benign.”
See also, “Brownies”.

I object to practicum.
The word comes from Latin, and Rome certainly PRACTICED slavery.

Yep. Also, doesn’t get much older and whiter than that.
Say what?
Academic ‘fields’ is gone?
Now wait just a cotton-pickin minute!

It is “soft” language – obscuring the truth through an increase in the number of syllables, making it more difficult to say and less liable to be repeated or discussed, hiding what is plain to see behind a wall of verbal effluent, kind of like what I just did here. In short, covering the truth with bull***t.
So does the Canadian flag have a red practicum now?
Christ, now Girl Guides (Brownies) are Embers?
What does Girl mean?
OMG!
#1 Christ = evokes the image of Christian superiority
#2 Guides = oppressive to First Nations who were forced to guide the white-man through their territory
#3 Embers = reminds the oppressed of their burned villages (see #1 and #2)
#4 OMG = see #1
now, are and does are perfectly acceptable. Please, no exclamation marks.
“Embers have potential that’s just waiting to be unleashed. They’re glowing and ready to start something incredible!”
Like maybe… Forest fires?
Shudd (sic) up and learn newspeak.
It’ll be interesting to watch the Trojans compete on the football practicum this fall.
Trojans owned slaves. And got owned by the Greek coalition after ten years on the practicum of battle through a sneaky, back-door play.
In a related story … The Utah Utes just OWNED The Trojans this year! Football social Justice?

There is a local high school football team called the Crusaders. I’m sure they will be shamed into changing their name soon, but given they are a Catholic school, they might do it themselves in some strange form of woke muslim “outreach”, lest they be labelled as racist and shit.
Back in the day, there was already internal polling about being labelled as violent invaders. I believe it was student-sourced, and as a result it went nowhere (those being the good old days). TBH, I’m surprised it hasn’t been changed already, given the way the times have changed.
Green-white dynamite, baby!
One would think that race baiters would want to keep such language active to support their employment prospects. How dare the white guilt Stockholm syndrome pimps remove their sources of prosperity and reasons for being. That must be racist or something.
In my twenties, I played rugby for a San Francisco club team. We were called “The Browns” but only had one legitimately “brown skinned” player … former CAL wide receiver Steve Rivera. He played winger, and our fly half would literally throw an overhand long American Pass to him (backward, of course). He was really fast, and would simply smoke defenders one v one. Why were we called “The Browns”? Because we wore brown jerseys (all the other colors were taken). Wait. We were The Browns … and wore … brown shirts? Ohhhhhhh mommmaaaaaaa … good thing the team folded shortly after my departure or the team would be on the national news today.
Do the Kiwis still have the All Blacks?
Of course … and they’re almost as good as South Africa’s Springboks who were banned from Intl. rugby because Apartheid for decades.
“The Trojans take the practicum after the half leading 14 to 10.”
Trojans were misogynist’s.
Kaepernick compared football to slavery.
Game cancelled.
Will farmers be working the practicum? How stupid does someone need to be to realize that changing a word just changes the word and some idiot will become offended because practicum becomes the new word for field and field was apparently trans-race-slave-phobic so not practicum is too so we better change it again… the cycle continues. This seems always to be an English problem only as I do not hear friends of mine of other languages countries going to any trouble changing words because someone is offended.
“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other word would smell as sweet.” or be offensive and or triggering to some snowflake?
Okay, then. Baseball’s in deep sh*t, with infield and outfield, not to mention the process of fielding fly balls. And football is equally suspect. The stupidity of these clowns is straight out of left field.
Regarding the master slave relationship, I have a vehicle with a manual transmission. To disengage the clutch to shift gears, the slave clutch cylinder reacts to pressure from the master cylinder. Thus, every time I shift gears, I enable a master/slave relationship to exist. Should I trade for an automatic? As well, my brakes are actuated by a master cylinder. Vehicles are inherently racist.
Hell, even the tires have white walls!
