On the F-35 purchase, it didn’t make sense to me for the #Libranos to not buy these years ago, though I think the Saab Griffen jet would have been good too, actually any jet would have been better than Australia’s used F-18’s.
The $19 Billion spent by the #Libranos, if spent each year!!! would bring Canada’s NATO spending to just over 2% of GDP, which is what the NATO standard is. Canada hasn’t met the 2% of GDP NATO standard since Brian Mulroney was PM in 1988. Tier 2 Canada could buy maybe 50 F-35’s each year and just make the 2% standard.
