It was only a few months ago, reports National Review’s John McCormack, that Planned Parenthood’s stated on their website that “‘a very basic beating heart’ develops by 6 weeks of pregnancy.” Now, he found, the website has been altered. The new language reads “a part of the embryo starts to show cardiac activity.”
Hmmm, what other groups strive to suppress facts in favour of Their Narrative™? Religious cults come to mind. Must just be a coincidence.

There is no “heartbeat” at six weeks because the heart does not exist at that point.
What you have is non-audible flutter of tissue that will eventually become part of a heart.

Week 5
Week 5 is the start of the “embryonic period.” This is when all the baby’s major systems and structures develop.
The embryo’s cells multiply and start to take on specific functions. This is called differentiation.
Blood cells, kidney cells, and nerve cells all develop.
The embryo grows rapidly, and the baby’s external features begin to form.
Your baby’s brain, spinal cord, and heart begin to develop.
Weeks 6 to 7
Arm and leg buds start to grow.
Your baby’s brain forms into 5 different areas. Some cranial nerves are visible.
Eyes and ears begin to form.
Tissue grows that will become your baby’s spine and other bones.
Baby’s heart continues to grow and now beats at a regular rhythm. This can be seen by vaginal ultrasound.

None of that contradicts my statement.
The fetal heart is not pumping blood through the body until birth.
That job is done by the mother’s heart.
So the heartbeat is NOT an indication of life like it is in a person.
Also those references are from later in the pregnancy when the heart organ has developed to the point where it can take over at birth.
At 6 weeks there organ is not even formed. It is a proto-heart with no chambers. Just a blob of muscle.
The only morons are the religious zealots who think they are entitled to tell a women with a high risk pregnancy that she should accept death because the “life” of a fetus is more important than hers.
