  1. No doubt he wanted Finance and Chrystia Nodding Head had a hissy fit, as 5 year olds are wont to do

    1. No, his intentions are to be the global grand poobah. Canada would only serve his purpose if he was PM, as that would be the minimum level of adulation he would tolerate. The guy is a narcissist, he won’t play second fiddle to anyone. Considering the lack of intelligence in the trudeau cabinet it would be a huge, huge step down the food chain for him to do anything but PM (which I why I stated previously on related posts he simply wouldn’t do it).

The guy is evil, driven, but not brilliant. However, he is smart enough to know where not to dip his toes.

    2. DanBC – I think he saw a pattern with Butts, Morneau and Wilson-Raybould and decided he didn’t need to end his career as a scapegoat for a spoiled toddler.

      1. Paul

Morneau and Wilson yes….BUTTS, Not a chance…. that full on NAZI POS remains as PM Dipshits # 1 ADVISOR & BFF. Bet on it.

  2. That was delicious! No doubt Carney took a good look at the ‘optics’ going forward and realized there was absolutely no point in being part of the circus.
That, and Summers and Winters in Ottawa… 😉

And those asshats gave us O’Toole, instead of a wolverine.

  3. But the destruction won’t be global. As a wealth redistribution scheme some countries will do well. Those doing the redistributing will do very well.

    1. It will be completely global to such an extent that it will be a depopulation event.

  4. Nice retool of the headline, Kate.

Mine: Carney will continue his World Circus tour looking for government marks to play his game.

  5. So he is going to burn jet fuel around the planet to fight global warming.

    1. Carney took his brave search for climate justice to the private boxes of Wimbledon a couple of weeks ago. He apparently never found it. Oh well. The US Open will happen next month in New York City. Maybe Mark can find it there.

      1. Any career ‘warmist’ who doesn’t spend 99% of their time pushing nuclear power and hammering at the Chinese proves to me beyond ANY DOUBT that they themselves don’t believe all the scare-mongering and doomsday bullshit they are pushing.

How inconvenient for the climate fraudsters that simple solutions have always existed for their fake crisis. Again, CLEAR PROOF that these grifters know what they are hysterically pushing is not at all real. Carney is just pondering the most advantageous time for him to switch public troughs.

        1. +++++/\ Cdn Ob

          100% right on the mark.
Western Wealth Re-distirbution Scam artists – the lot (communist ones)

  6. Don’t give a hoot what Carney does, the fact he supports Trudeau and his government is all the information needed.

    1. Maybe Carney can collaborate with Climate Barbie who is not running again and instead will work on environmental
      whatever.

      1. Mark Carney is searching for climate justice about as diligently as OJ Simpson searched for the real killers.

  7. Whatever transpired can only be guessed.
But past behaviour of all those closest that would be in a position to actually know is a good indication of the motives that contributed to Carney taking a pass.
They are as follows without prioritizing:
1-It was a drop in pay
2-The riding associations took exception to the possibility of a parachute candidate.
3- The executive was having difficulty finding a safe riding for Carney to run in because of point 2 and because they couldn’t sufficiently compensate the MP currently warming the safe seat.
4- The PMO sensing a potential leadership challenge wouldn’t provide adequate incentive or patronage available to facilitate the vacancy of a safe seat.
5- Many individuals that have benefited from having the sock monkey as leader perceived a leadership under Carney as losing their meal ticket (see point 4).
6- Carney is ambitious and had his sights on the big chair, but like Paul Martin knows time is not on his side. He would jump in but only if the job was available. Hence the subtext to all of this as a leadership change.
7- The pundits and the Ottawa press where looking for a story even to the point of inflating speculation (like when have they ever done that?). This one has the potential to write itself.
8- The party has a collective memory of the Chrétien Martin civil war and this has all the signs of repeat.
9- It was putting shade on the current leader. The thought of sharing the limelight didn’t sit well.
10- His debut before committee did not go as planned when Polivierre took him to the wood shed in short order.

Due to the speculated reasons its probable that there was a discussion with the key players that formulated a plausible reason for Carney to quash the rumour mill.

  8. These types are anointed by the movers and shakers. It’s not his time. Yet. Given the current gang in Ottawa, he’d have no patience for smutty politics plus his freedom would be vastly curtailed. To have to face Pierre Poilievre wouldn’t suit him either given their recent tête à tête.

  9. Speculation I heard was that he is aware there is a likely financial collapse in Canada, and he does not want to be associated with it, and believes that Freeland will take a big chunk of the blame along with the spawn. Then he will come in claiming to be a financial expert and promising to fix it if elected PM.

    1. Blame for Liberalling? (if that’s not a verb, it should be.) No, there’s never blame for “trying to do the right thing” regardless of how many times it fails. Look at the black holocaust of abortion in the US, brought to you by the party of minority rights, as long as they keep talking or changing the topic they’ll never be held to task.

  10. The climate grift is way more lucrative than the political grift, unless your a 40 year US senator.

  11. Ask this.
Why did/does the liberal party want Carney?
What is it he has that they don’t have or are weak enough on that it effects them?

My guess is that the thing Carney has that the lack there of has the potential to effect them at the next election.

    To quote Red Green
“If they can’t find you handsome, let em find you handy.”

  12. Too much risk.

The Bong isn’t going anywhere and Carnival isn’t going to be a roustabout to him. The libranos lose or stay in minority and Bongo is gone.
There are many in cabinet and on the backbench who see themselves as king. He can’t compete with them without a bloodbath.

He has no intention of being a back bencher and the culture of the LPC suggests putting him in cabinet ahead of MP’s who have done their time in the trenches is inherently dangerous. No future.

  13. Good headline Kate. When Shiny’s MOT (Ministry of Truth) shuts you down you can emmigrate to Beverly Hills and work for the Bee.

  14. Carnage has an actual CV unlike the PM who only has a recognizable last name.

There is no way he is going to be 2IC to an airhead like the Bong or any of the small thinkers in the LPC.

    1. Carney and Trudeau probably couldn’t even have a decent conversation, beyond ” hello”.

Justin is immature intellectually he can’t even face Rebel News. As an example, look at what he puts his armed guards through with the likes of Rebel News:
Watch “Team Trudeau cuts our mic — Terry Guillon RETURNS to bully Rebel News!”

        1. Oh, that was awful. The way he handled her makes one cringe. Yet, she handled herself like a lady.
