  1. Ron was a fair-weather friend who couldn’t back away fast enough from Don Cherry when Grapes got into trouble. In fact, Ron ran over Cherry’s body on his upward journey with CBC to even greater woke idiocy. Both MacLean and CBC have spin-doctor teams working overnight tonight trying to save his bacon.

    I hope he gets cancelled. Would serve him right.

    1. I’ve been in Canada since 1967 and I have never heard that term until last night.

      1. Canadian by birth, never heard it until that clip. But then, I stopped following pro hockey in ’92 after the players’ strike. I’ve had it pushed on me since I moved to YYC, but I don’t follow it more than I need to poke holes in certain balloons.

        2. Almost the exact same experience right here, except to the timeline. I waited till the ’04 strike/lockout before giving up on the NHL. And, after cheering for them since they joined the league in ’70 when I was a 10yo, I completely gave up on the Canucks after their string of FREAKING HORRID trades, starting(I think) with Luongo.

          Most of my disgust with the NHL itself was with the newer generations of players. It was their own lack of discipline and honor that supposedly ‘required’ the rule changes that effectively ruined the league forever for me.

          And, after countless street-hockey games and even some beer-league ice hockey, never heard that term, either.

          1. Yeah, I hear that. I was a die-hard Habs fan from the time I was old enough to follow hockey. The mid-70s were the golden years. But something changed after that expansion that included the Oilers, and then the one after that really seems to have brought down the league. Not least would be a watering down of talent. I also have a large amount of blame to point at little-man Bettman. To me, it’s now just a shit-show of overpaid, entitled crybabies (and their super-greedy owners) that’s no longer worth watching. Which I think applies to all pro sports at this point.

  10. I look forward to the King of the Gays making a comment on this latest hate crime… who is the King of the Gays right now ? or is it a Queen of the Gays ? Who leads that “special group” ? They must have a leader, right ?
    MacLean is a hate filled homophobe who should be brought before one of Peeair Turdholes, “Human Rights Tribunals”.
    If Don Cherry can be terminated for asking “you people” to wear a poppy, then this blatant homophobia and “intolerance” from bigot MacLean should also be punished followed by a damning lisping statement from Dear Leader, Juthtin Turdhole, dressed in an Indian headdress and in full blackface make-up of course with the prerequisite banana down his pants , so as not to offend anyone, condemning this blatant “homophopia”… “thith will not be tolerated” lisps the blackfaced Leader of Turdholeland between bong hits.
