  1. I’ve spent time in Texas. It’s one of my favourite places.

I don’t share Dave’s enthusiasm for Texas staying true to it’s conservatism. Texas has been moving left for decades. This next bunch of Californicators should seal the deal.

Rural Texas will stay conservative but places like Austin…. are as left wing as Eugene OR or Madison WS. The cities have rolled over.

Alberta went through the same thing Texas is experiencing. We’re now as liberal here as anyplace in this country. The ranch community and to some extent the farmers carry the conservative banner here but the cities are predominated by liberals.

Elon Musk the face of new capitalism? Crony capitalism maybe. He’s a snake oil salesman and I predict his line of vehicles will go the way of the Studebaker or Bricklin once the subsidies run out.

Willie Nelson is as left wing as any NY liberal. Sure I like his music and to show a picture of Hag with him on stage is a bit disingenuous.
Merle Haggard was no liberal. Anybody remember the “Fighting Side of Me?”

Those Californicators would do well to listen to Lyle Lovett’s, “That’s Right your not from Texas.”

  2. When governments legislate your competition off the road while subsidizing your rich customers who are the only people who can afford your product, capitalism isn’t the word I would use to describe Musk. Rent seeker’s rent seeker or crony capitalist comes to mind.

  3. I gotta admit, if I get to the point of going to the US border to claim political asylum, and they let me in, I will for sure be heading for Texas….I hope they adopt me 🙂
