Wuhan Flu: The $5 Solution

This is utterly maddening. These 10 minute in-home tests have been available for months.

Embedding has been disabled, so click the image — it will take you to the relevant portion of the Lex Fridman interview with Michael Mina.

More here;

Slovakia has had exceptional results. They rolled out exactly the kind of testing program I’ve been pushing, though not at-home testing. They asked half of their country to get tested over a weekend and then did that three weekends in a row. Within a few weeks, they saw incidents drop by like 50 percent.

It’s actually almost precisely 50 percent. They had a peak of 466 cases per million on November 4, and that dropped to 232 per million by November 24. Caseloads in other countries in Europe have been dropping, too, of course — often accompanied by lockdowns — but that Slovakia record is very impressive.

They had an increasing epidemic. It was exponentially increasing. And they just squashed it. Which makes sense. They found a lot of positives all at once and they stopped all of those positives from transmitting to others.

This interview is so good that I’m tempted to pin it to the top of the blog for the coming week. Find the time.

  1. Well the CDC just further revealed themselves as mendacious, evil, hard core leftists with their directive to vaccinate old white people last so this doesn’t surprise me. The goal all along was to draw this out as long as possible and to have as many people die as possible, all in an effort to destroy Trump and win in November. Mission accomplished.

    1. sid it’s a twofer……the whole premise with global warming is there’s too many people…along with all their other premises

    2. Well except Congress who will get it first. Even with the stupid wokeistani vaccine distribution they’ll beat us to ending this garbage by months, maybe even a year depending on just how badly Trudeau screwed us.

  2. Just sent a copy of this to my local MPP and local office of Public Health. Let’s see what happens. I suggest that everyone else do this.

    1. Me too, Prime Minister, Premier, local MP and O’Toole.

Basically sent a link to this video and said to PM & Premier, they are part of the solution or part of the problem, which are you.

You’ll definitely NOT see this on any news outlet, print TV or radio. They are all in cahoots.

  3. Why do they still put that tranny out as the spokesperson? Watching Tham makes me wish I got it and died.

  4. I can’t stress how important this podcast is, please pass it on to whomever you think will listen to it.

    1. First, Donald J. Trump has the ability to see the profound implications of this both for public health management and for returning self-government to the citizenry. If anyone can pull this off in less than 30 days. It would be him.

But the FDA is the epitome of the deep state and Democrats are either too stupid or too much in the pocket of Big Pharma and the Reset to let that happen.

2nd on my list would be South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, she’s smart, strong-willed and leads a state that still believes in State’s Rights and the Constitutional Republic.

I can’t think of any elected Canadian leader with the I.Q. and strength of character: to put the bureaurcracy in their place, suppress C.C.P. infection rates in time to save the economy and avoid the pending unnecessary human suffering.

The miasma mesmerized us to replace competence with mediocrity. Thereby hangs a tale.

  5. Interesting, my first thought before watching was ‘im not getting tested because my governor whitmer is a tyrant. Oh…this takes control back from the little wannabe dictators. I’d do an at home test for 5 if my results are only MINE. Sharing….

  6. Killing and financially ruining westerners by the million, transferring large parts of the net worth of the western world into the hands of the Chinese Communist Party, and overthrowing leaders who took the side of their people against the Chinese communists were not side effects of Wuhan flu. They were the whole goddamn point of the Chinese bioterror campaign.

A quick, cheap solution would have defeated the purpose of the exercise. So none such were seriously considered.

“Bureaucracy is the institutionalization of ignorance.” – Larry

  8. Jail prisoners in Massachusets are to get the vaccine before old people. Can you believe it.

    1. As an old guy at the high end of the so called risk category I sure as hell hope so. I want millions to get it before I do. Untested and no idea what the long term effects might be. Several thousand have already had adverse reactions to the vaccines and yes, test it on all the criminals first as well as all politicians.

      1. VOWG: “test it on all the criminals first as well as all politicians.”
        But you repeat yourself, sir.

  9. It’s beyond infuriating to watch this and realize the full reality of what has been going in our lives by inept, corrupt politicians and corrupt Big Medical and Big Pharma.

  10. I had occasion this afternoon to drive by the largest shopping mall near me, Sun Valley Mall in Concord, CA. It’s become the “blue collar mall” as fancier shopping districts have sprung up in surrounding cities. This is a dying mall … virtually deserted all year long … a hulking skeletal retail Behemoth eviscerated by Amazon.China.com

Well, I have news for Gavin Newsom … the mall was absolutely PACKED this afternoon. I didn’t see a single parking stall available, including all their multistory parking structures. The surrounding streets were gridlocked. This … during our most strict EMERGENCY stay at home, ICU’s are full, SHUT DOWN orders! Christmas has been canceled by Gavin … just.too.risky. And yet the public are FLOCKING to the (evidently) ESSENTIAL multinational retail clothing stores. The last memo I got from the State and County Health Commissars was that EVERYONE MUST stay home and not leave their homes unless to buy food or see a doctor.

Hint: Gavin – nobody is listening to you anymore. You’re a LIAR and a hypocrite. Your words ring hollow. Nobody cares what you have to say during your daily drowning on sessions in your raspy hoarse voice. You’re talking to yourself … verbal masturbation. You didn’t cancel Christmas … you just motivated Californians to be Super-Spreaders of Cheer and Good Will toward Men

    1. True patriots opposing the tyrannical “EMERGENCY” decrees by flocking to the malls and shopping!!! Risking their lives like in those videos of people dropping like flies in Wuhan.

Here in Ontari-ari-ario, the gov’t is now dictating another 4 week lock-down. The WHO says that lockdowns should be a measure of last resort. Why have other measures not been applied first, e.g. the 10 minute $5 test…e.g. to screen passengers arriving at Toronto international airport. Over 300,000 NON-Canadians have entered the country since March in addition to the dual citizens from places like Iran. The authorities don’t check if people self-quarantine.

Starting boxing day, the doors for mall clothing stores will be closed to retail shopping. Unlike California, civil protest against tyranny by shopping for designer cloths is not an option for Ontari-arians.

  11. This is what survivors will remember, the wilful evil of those who we paid,to keep us informed on public health issues,so that we might make informed decisions..
Does anyone consider the information provided in the last 10 months,by our well funded government experts, as useful in making informed personal decisions about coping with Covid 19?
All I have learnt is what I already knew,Everything government touches turns to shit.
    Fire them all.

    1. John you say that as if “surviving” is a big deal. Surviving the edicts and mandates are the problem, not the flu, with a 99.8% recovery rate I have no idea why anyone would be worried. I agree, fire them all and get up, get out, and get over it.

  12. What is particularly infuriating about this .. was the CONSTANT drumbeat last spring … that we HAD to have more testing! But that President Trump hadn’t made enough tests available. So our local anti-Trump news station(s) showed long drive-up lines of “essential” people getting COVID tests … while all us plebes had to WAIT our turns. And so for months they droaned on and on about how Trump wasn’t providing enough tests … just like he didn’t provide enough ventilators … or PPE … or hazmat suits … and that he didn’t care about gramma and gramps. ohhhhbb mommaaaaaa … if we only had more tests … we could stop this Trump-demic

    All lies.

We better put a complete STOP to this Marxist reset NOW! Before it’s too late and we are living through a never ending Dark, Dark Winter. Which reminds me … wasn’t it CS Lewis in his book The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe who described the Evil (Satan) Queen as having plunged Narnia into a perpetual freezing cold, dark, winter? And Biden wants to be America’s Snow Queen?

    1. Just a number that popped up last week from San Fransdisco, apparently 621 people had died from overdoses this year compared with 173 with the whu who flu. We sure are doing great.

      1. Isn’t she too Dark, herself to ever be a Snow Queen? She wouldn’t be caught dead looking like Michael Jackson … Kampala is a womyn ovvvvvvv culllllller … it’s all she’s got.

  13. Didn’t have time for the video tonight but read the article from November. First thing I
I did was go and look at the current Covid stats in Slovakia, now a month after that November article. Have a look for yourself and take from that what you will.

His concept sounds good, very interesting idea, and best part is it doesn’t have to be coercive. However I’m weary of claims of a panacea.

Throughout this pandemic I keep thinking about that famous Hayek quote: “The curious task of economics(insert experts, epidemiologist, etc) is to demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imagine they can design”(or in this case control).

    1. As in these stats? https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/slovakia/
Yes, there was a dip in November, but any gains appear to have been erased (and then some).
I’m a fan of getting inexpensive tests as widely as possible…and also for getting better data on what medicines/therapies were used on ALL those who were hospitalized and/or died. It still seems like a black box. How widely are HCQ or Ivermectin used across all patients? Maddening.

      1. Yes exactly, the old shaman rain dance cause and effect error. Tests were introduced in Slovakia, and cases dropped (for reasons unknown). You think its linked to these tests, but then cases and deaths jump up again, worse than ever.

The rapid test idea is very interesting and seems promising, but theories and practice are always two different things.

  14. I thought this was a practical, down to earth solution when it was first mentioned mid July on Medcram, yes, you heard me right. I posted the following on several websites at the time, including this one, I thought.
On Thu, Jul 23, 2020, 6:57 AM Exasperated wrote:
Dr Sheult (Medcram) has an update exploring the idea put forth by a Dr. Mina of Harvard. As you know, effective testing has been an obstacle in establishing protocols for public safety. The CDC is hung up on having a 99.999% accurate test.
What Dr Mina has proposed is using the less sensitive, but extremely cheap, self administered antigen test, based on a drop of saliva wiped across a small square of test paper. This test measures for infectivity over a certain threshold. If the test is positive the student or worker just stays home. Even if it is missed the first day, so what, it can be picked up a day or two later, the point is you have many potential carriers self isolating greatly reducing the public viral load and exposure. Again the point is don’t let the perfect by the enemy of the good or the good enough. These test are already available.
You wouldn’t even have to take it day in and day out for weeks and months at a time, just when the level of active cases is accelerating in your local area. Maybe the city or the school district could track local infectious activity and be the communication hub like they are for storms or when school is cancelled.

At the time my sister, from Illinois, replied:
It eliminates test reading companies like the Pritzker crowd are invested in – what a surprise the readings are so high in false positives. It would have to offer some form of graft or it won’t be used around here.

    1. L- I empathize with your exasperation.

Scott Adams has advocated a quick home test kit, most likely this one. For some reason, his argument didn’t resonate with me, the way that Dr. Mina’s visual and mathematical one instantly did.

Being both a physician and trained in engineering, Dr. Mina’s ability to communicate, even with we, who are not as intelligent as he, is remarkable. It’s synergy in motion.

His concept of Public Health Engineering is one, I’d assumed was already integrated into Public Health, but apparently not. From what we’ve seen, very little is integrated into the thinking in institutionalized Public Health.

It will take a Hell of a fight to get this testing protocol to replace shutdowns and shutdown induced mortality/morbidity in 2021. The Free Speech hill is our Vimy Ridge, 2021 our Reconquista.

  15. “It’s actually almost precisely 50 percent.” What in thunder is that supposed to mean? Either it is, or it isn’t.

No, I don’t let foolishness like that slide. Yes, I am a grouchy old bastard.

    1. L- Yes, that is an ongoing fight. frontline doctors, the physicians who attend to high risk Covid-19 patients have to put their patients before themselves. That has been the ideal that elevated physicians to professional status in the past.

They have to take the fight public just as the American Assoc. of Physicians and Surgeons, America’s Frontline Doctors, the Critical Care doctors group e.i. Dr. Pierre Kory’s group, even as Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, the lone David against the Goliath is doing.

Canada has some who have signed on to the Great Barrington Declaration, but have not coalesced into a group willing to publicly challenge the Public Health bureaucracy, as yet. Yes, they are risking their medical practice if they campaign in public, but are in a position to put up a good fight. Secondly, if they lose, they have the option to move to other places, one where they’d be welcomed warmly to practice medicine. Dr. Kellie Leitch was able to move stateside after the political persecution affected her ability to practice medicine in Canada under Marxist Medicine.

The educated class professionals volunteered in large numbers to fight in World War I. Many of them, like Col. John McCrae(Flanders Fields) died from the risks of being a battlefield surgeon. How many today are even willing to risk their comfortable guaranteed upper middle-class status for their patients, for their country? 2021 will proof the steel of their resolve.

Agreed, the degree of support from ordinary citizens is also required. Presently, the panic-demic polling shows politicians in Canada can, in the short term, get away with causing more harm than good. The small and middle-sized businesses and the middle-class, also have yet to mount an organized defence, as they are being decimated, with no end in sight in 2021.

Effective, inexpensive therapeutics would have prevented the mortality and morbidity rates that have led to the lockdowns, but again, the demand for open and fair debate, the full disclosure of evidence, due process, will be the political battle of 2021.

In Canada, since the Trudeau regime took power in 2015, it has been a battle to retain the Freedom of Expression. All four main parties in Parliament have surrendered, as have most of the MSM, most institutions have either fallen or are struggling to retain some integrity. It’s going to be one hell or a war, many here won’t live to see the final outcome, but their torch will be tossed from failing hands to others, as it has always been.

  16. Call me a skeptic , but given the nymag.com is a leftist rag and the guy being interviewed is a lefty who subtly blames everything on Trump , I will reserve judgement on his numbers. I will certainly agree with him on the efficacy of the proposed vaccines being significantly less than the 90-95% which is based on very small samples done over a period of 1-2 months.

You will notice in the article there is no mention of vaccine safety as apparently the safety is a given. The word “safe” is mention only once and “safety” is not mentioned at all.

The notion of fast , cheap home tests has been circulating since early summer , but the elites and power mad politicians are either too stupid or corrupt or both. Witness Dougie Ford with his latest lockdown.
