On CTV this am glaciers were vanishing at an alarming rate. Only the socialist narrative is allowed in Canadian media.
One comment I saw summed it up nicely: “When Al Gore was born, there were 130,000 glaciers. Today, there are only 130,000 left.”

It was once posted here some years ago “when there are no more stadium sized rock concerts with the huge demand for electricity, the very large number of semi trucks required to move all the equipment and the cost of airfare for the performers, then I/we will believe there is a climate crisis caused by mankind!” I would also include all the movie/television industries around the world with their huge demands for electricity as well. Until then, I will continue to live my life on a budget and take a nice vacation every couple of years.

I also seem to Remember, last year at this time, I was camping in southern Saskatchewan and there was a near all time record breaking heat wave, it was in the +40’s in Maple Creek.. Eh, must just be the weather!

Relax, I used to live in Medicine Hat and have been going to Cypress Hills for an annual camp out at near the same time and exactly the same place for near 20 years now, I can see and remember the weather patterns.. yes it’s hot in Summer.. Some times it’s not as hot.. Woke up to snow a few times camping, other years, it rained for a week.. it’s weather, I get it… They were reporting the temps from all over sask and comparing to earlier records and it was coming close, within a few degrees in 2018, but it was definitely not the “hottest summer ever”.

Snowfall warnings were in place for north east BC near Fort Nelson over the weekend (30 cm?). In August. That’s impossible of course because snowfalls are now a thing of the past.
Meanwhile I am wondering why Justin and Horgan are not banning ATV’s, Quads, Jet-Skis, Whale Watching tours, and cruise ships in the name of climate change. It really is low hanging fruit. If this is really a climate emergency why not go after the easy targets to reduce carbon emissions? Also, why are the Greens not wanting to ban cruise ships? There are far more cruise ships transiting the inside passage than any increase in oil tanker traffic from Kinder Morgan. What would be the damage to the environment if a cruise ship ran aground and/or sank? The MV Queen of the North left quite a large footprint when it went down.
Two articles in the July 2014 issue of National Geographic epitomize the dishonesty of the Apocalypic Climate Change narrative. Here’s a quote from the first one which alleges that the mangroves are expanding northwards along the Florida coast:
“What’s enticing the mangroves north? Fewer cold snaps. These days temperatures rarely dip below 25F, a vital threshold for the trees”
But a hundred or so pages later in a different article about the supposed decline of the Goliath Grouper populations:
“The current trajectory suggests 20 percent losses of remaining U.S. mangroves – devastating for young, developing goliaths, which are already reeling from unusually cold winters that took out thousands of the fish from their juvenile habitat throughout South Florida”
So at the same place and time the climate is heating and the mangroves are expanding, or if you wish, the climate is cooling and the mangroves are shrinking.
I mean, how can any honest, thinking adult not have some serious questions about the veracity of the entire climate change narrative after reading two completely contradictory articles like this?
It used to be about the heat. Then they allowed “rare” cold spells due to climate uncertainty. Now they refer to higher variability which is even worse than than warming because you can’t easily prepare. They have us covered.
