Money For Nothing

Now Wab proposes to hand out tax breaks for “investments” in the Port of Churchill. Newsflash: a 7% cost reduction is unlikely to convince any investor to sink money into a port that’s locked in ice for a substantial portion of every year. It’s doubtful the green lobby will like the idea of ships bulldozing polar bears either.

The province say the new tax measure would apply to proposals for a new energy corridor and liquefied natural gas facilities, upgrades to the railway that runs to the port and icebreaking capacity to support year-round shipping.

  1. Not a surprise coming from a member of a stone age culture that is mostly drunk or high, and rock hard stupid.

  2. How about getting every level of government out of everybody’s business? Start with 50% cuts yr 1, then 50% cuts yr 2, then see how things are going? If well, another 50%, what the heck!

  3. Meanwhile … here in Contra Costa County, CA … our current sales tax is 10.75%. Our regional mass transit, BART, that everyone stopped riding after COVID instructed people that breathing the same air as other people will kill you … is asking the voters for a 0.5% increase to 11.25%.

I gotta get outta this place, if it’s the last thing I ever do.

Eastern US: Tennessee, Arkansas, maybe good parts of Missouri … I can’t handle the smothering humidity of the Deep South.
