I’m bilingual, and normally Radio-Canada does broadcast more rational reports than its English counterparts. But they do fall off the wagon once in a while. Today, they have a weather map showing southern Sask in red, a guy sitting on what looks like a park bench wiping his forehead, and the headline reads: ”Vague de chaleur dans le sud de la Saskatchewan.” (Heat wave predicted for southern Saskatchewan.) Their predicted temps for today are 30-32 degrees Celsius.

We had someone like that at the institution where I used to teach.
The administrator in question resigned suddenly under mysterious circumstances and quickly skedaddled. Eventually, news reports about her appeared a year or so later, and, eventually, the long arm of the law caught up with her, after which the whole story came out.
She started university in the discipline she claimed to have her degree in. However, she dropped out after a year or two, but she couldn’t face her family with that news, so she concocted a story about her subsequent activities.
She succeeded in building a career on those fibs but it slowly began unravelling when people started questioning her judgement on certain things. Those questions eventually led to suspicions about her qualifications. One thing led to another, resulting in her quick exit from my institution and her subsequent apprehension.
She spent time in the crowbar hotel for her misdeeds. The institution, as it typically did when its reputation was sullied, quickly covered its you-know-what. For example, the student calendar traditionally published the names and credentials of its teaching staff , but, after that incident, a disclaimer also appeared. The institution stated that it claimed no responsibility for whatever education or titles my colleagues said they had.
