A few months ago, in a cascade of disgraces both Gov. Ralph Northam and Attorney General Mark Herring admitted to wearing blackface, then Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax was accused of sexual assault by two women.

Ken, 2010 study showed that 85% of USA (J)urnolists were dem supporters. 2015 study showed there were still 7% who were GOP supporters. I would guess that the lefty support in Canada and Europe is even higher than in the USA
Maybe the stories about Northam and Herring went away because polling showed that nobody, not even black people, cared much what a couple of political hacks may or may not have done thirty years ago. As for Fairfax that is continuing but no action lately. Hard to provide interesting reporting on something that is not happening. Another possibility is that people are quite prepared to forgive Northam necause they don’t what the ever unpopular Ed Gillespie running for governor yet again.
