To end this summer month, I’d like to do something a little different and reflect back on the most popular songs of the recent World Cup. Here are my Top 2 nominees:

  2. Choosin’ Texas – Ella Langley – Much because of social media phenom, Freddy

I’m a bit stuck on what are #3, #4, & #5 on my list. But what are your Top 3 or Top 5 songs that you remember from the World Cup?

My neighbors from Manila (I don’t know how to spell The Philipeens but can easily spell “Manila”) played at full tilt, the World Cup anthem by Shakira for two hours on opening day, multiple times during important games, and in the last few days played it a few times for more than an hour straight, with the windows open and I’m guessing as loud as their non Bryston (Mcintosh for those Kenji type folks in SF) amps could muster and it didn’t appear to bother them at all.
    They’re super nice people, but I question Sally’s musical taste now. I like Shakira a lot, more so now that she’s come to her senses and left her Spanish ex partner and note that she’s still able to dance up a storm.

    My neighbors vote many times for whatever Shakira was singing, though I haven’t heard it in this neighborhood since the World Cup ended.

    1. Personally, I think it’s great these communists tend to concentrate/self-isolate in these select prog cities (Madison, Portland, SF, Austin). So much easier to wipe them out all Curtis LeMay style when the time comes (now would be good).

    1. All the more reason to buy a late 60s muscle car, like I’ve been wanting to the last four decades. Now I just have to decide which one (not easy).

    2. Brilliant! And 100% spot on.
      I admit to being a monstrous Clarkson fan. For one simple and primary reason. He’s got “it”. The “it” factor. The unseen but plainly visible talent that surpasses all outward appearances. Like the Tom Brady “it” factor. Improbable looking as a qb … but he just wins and wins and wins. Clarkson can film (and write/perform) anything … and you can’t stop watching. It’s compelling … even when it shouldn’t be … like Clarkson’s Farm. Amazon hit it out of the park by scoring Clarkson’s Farm. I assume when no other media outlet would touch radioactive right winger Clarkson with a 100ft. pole.

      Clarkson had me forever the day he put Rick Wakeman on a keyboard out in a field whilst watching bad drivers attempt to speed a “reasonable priced car” around a track in Hereford shire or some such nowhere corner of the UK.

    Under the new progressive rules, feelings count more then almost anything else. Mamdani should be completely banned from 9/11 events in NYC. His prsence makes victim families “feel unsafe” due to his support of terrorism.

    1. Best moment for me was when it ended and they stopped talking about it.
      Oh, and that was the best moment for the FIFA org and various politicians, who all grabbed their paper bags and went for a yacht escape.

      Tousi TV reporting on yesterday’s storming of Spanish territories and the aftermath. News you won’t hear and see reported by CNN, CBC, BBC… Arson and looting by mostly peaceful “migrants”. Barcelona residents are stringing barbed-wire on their balconies to prevent break-ins.

      1. They are reporting that of the 60,000 migrants, 40,000 have been returned already and the EU has closed its doors. At least the politicians are now paying attention.
