Good news for anti pipeline activists. Groper has stuck it to Alberta again. Our little prince has appointed a female MP from B.C. to the position of Treasury Board president. She is an avid environmentalist who hates pipelines and was vocal in caucus in her opposition to pipelines. She also was behind oil tanker bans when serving as a provincial cabinet minister.

  1. I’ve long believed that this has absolutely nothing to do with the environment but everything to do with politics.

    The Fiberals have been waging war against Alberta ever since Peter Lougheed was first elected as premier. They see us as a renegade province, much like the PRC sees Taiwan. They do not want us to be prosperous as that would give us independence inside Confederation through financial and political strength, which it did. They want to beat us into submission once and for all, forever after kowtowing to the real Canada, namely Quebec.

    We’re seen as Quebec’s piggy bank and it is our duty to comply without question. The current siege is meant to be a death by a thousand cuts and will continue until we capitulate, much like Winston Smith did at the end of 1984.

    If Bernier became PM, I’m sure he’d clean house and drain the swamp. If Sheep did, he’d keep them in place because he doesn’t want to offend anyone.

    Mr. Kenney, I suggest that you quickly begin the process of taking Alberta out of Confederation after you take office as premier.

    As for you, Mr. Trudeau, go to hell!

    1. Rupertsland was purchased without our permission when we never offered it for sale. Ir was conquered by military force in 1870 and 1885 and colonized. It was dismembered and Kewatin and Ungava were added to Ontario and Quebec, again without any vote by the residents. Make all provinces an territories equal and amend the constitution by a 2/3 vote of the people. Give almost all powers to the provinces, even the military and post offices. Limit federal expenditure to 1% of GDP.

  4. There is only one way forward for the Colony of Alberta. And to be clear in reality the Provinces are treated as Colonies of Ottawa. Is to Declare a UDI or Unilateral Declaration of Independence. And do not even attempt to get drawn into the legal Bullshit of Ottawa. The UDI will end all Indian Claims, Treaties, and all existing agreements with Ottawa. It will end Multicult and Bilingualism all in one stroke. The SCOC will have no jurisdiction, whatsoever. It immediately moves it beyond all those arrangements, deals and extortion rackets. It also ends all International agreements signed by Ottawa and forced on the Colony of Alberta.
    Then the people of Alberta can begin the process of creating the society that they want and need.

    1. Watcher, a UDI has to be backed by force.The Albertans have no armed forces,the federal government has 4200 RCMP occupying troops plus several hundred city cops who will undoubtedly side with their brothers in arms. Revolutions are not negotiated but taken by force.

      A UDI would probably be simply met by an arrest of the leaders of Alberta,and the installation of a Federal Governor until the next election can be held.

      1. Wrong Don it does not have to be backed by force to have legal effect. There are 4 M Albertans and if they Democratically decide by Simple Majority to Declare UDI there is nothing anyone can do. It is a long established legal right going all the way back.
        Besides the Canadian Military or the Para Military RCMP could do jack shit.

          And it’s even easier to pick out those who have no idea of reality. Jason Kenney is a comfortable member of the Establishment, no revolution will come from him, and no other politician in Canada who is currently in Office is about to do so either. Revolution doesn’t come from INSIDE the system, but outside.

          It’s easy to fantasize about UDI’s, revolutions, fighting against gun control,etc., but eventually you have to come down to reality. We’ve had this conversation before, Canadians are not by nature revolutionaries, and anyone who even mentions that is considered a nutcase. Has anyone here ever sounded Kenney out on his feelings about Alberta separating from Canada? The idea may not resonate very well with him.

          We are not going to revolt, and Kenney isn’t going to try to negotiate Alberta’s way out of Canada. The Quebec/Ontario elite knows just as we do how essential to them Alberta’s resources are. They aren’t going to go down without a fight, and THEY have the finances, the Law, the military, cops, and the UN to back them, we have a bunch of disgruntled old men. I hate having to be the “wet blanket” to some here, but the only fantasies I approve of involve shipwrecks,desert islands,and a boat load of vicki’s secret models.

Jeezus man, you weren’t in Quebec in the 60’s and 70’s with exploding mailboxes, riots and dead Quebec MLA’s, were you? Troops in our streets? You missed all the action. The RCMP are outnumbered and mostly in small detachments, outside the cities. It takes time to order up some military and no shots were ever fired at anybody in 1970, when they were.

            Nope, we’ll all set down and dicker, just like with Quebec in 1970. The country is dysfunctional now and will break up if things continue much as they are. BC has already “left”, there really is no benefit to remaining for the prairie provinces. If folks outside the Lower Mainland don’t see eye to eye with Vancouver, don’t be too sure that they don’t secede from the LM and join Alberta/Saskatchewan/Alaska.

            How many pink haired, bolt through the nose, sexually confused, southern Ontario folks, or their millenial equivalents care about anything that happens north of Barrie in their own province, let alone 3500 kms to the west? They don’t. The Quebec equivalent are still picking the lint out over “bilingue” outside of Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City. None of them are gonna trek out west to try and prevent the inevitable.

          2. Don were did you study history of Canada at the CBC or maybe CSIS or Paramilitary RCMP. There are 27 page of riots and civil unrests in Canada along with Rebellions in Upper and Lower Canada, the Louis Riel Rebellion, the Irish Rebellions etc.
            You may be a sheep but Canada’s history is full of Rebellions and unrest.

            Alberta already has a Prime Minister/Premier who is equal to the PM of the City of Ottawa. Alberta has a Head of State the Lt. Gov. Under the BNA which is part of the Constitution, Alberta can enter into International Trade with anyone it so desires.
            The citizens of Alberta own Alberta not Canada.
            The point about International Trade and Treaty’s was already decided in favor of the Provinces many years ago by the SCOC.
            UDI is completely legal. It is an awesome weapon for the Premier of Alberta to have on hand. In fact Alberta because Canada already is a Confederation only has to have a binding referendum in which if 51% of the voters decide to secede they can. That is what Confederation means. An agreement of Sovereign States that have agreed to work together for their common benefit. SOVEREIGN Don.
            If 4M Albertan’s decide to leave nothing in Canada can stop them. And the military can do nothing. As far as arresting the Democratically elected Prime Minister of Alberta what are you smoking. That is a pipe dream. That would start a Civil War right now.

    One hopes that the Federal Liberal party goes the way of the post-Clark Provincial NDP/post-Mulroney Federal PC.
