  1. Well, they finally got someone who can sing their national anthem. NASCAR should hire this lady and take her to all their races.

    1. She didn’t do such a great job singing the anthem prior to the Vegas Golden Knights/Washington Capitals Stanley Cup Playoff game. I was dreading last night’s anthem, hoping it wouldn’t be a repeat; it wasn’t. She was awesome! Sounding and looking classy!

  2. Much of the Super Bowl promotions, and many of the ads, were social justice pc. I’m an NFL fan, and enjoyed the often exciting playoffs, but the SJW stuff went overboard to be sure. I was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area, and am a lifetime Steeler fan, but the attacks against the Patriots by the establishment media — given some of the support of Donald Trump — convinced me to root for New England.

Speaking of the establishment media, the Globe and Mail’s hard left sports writer, one Cathal Kelly, wrote a piece two days ago stating NFL sports fans “cannot be good people”. (I am not making this up). The crackpot Globe writer based his opinion on a recent article from the New York Times, which originated this thinking. And this morning, Monday February 4, the Globe and Mail featured two separate opinion pieces at the top of its main page about how boring the Super Bowl was.

So there you go. Conservatives have a right to complain about the PC-ness of the NFL. But the left wing seems to hate the sport, and especially the New England Patriots. I think I will continue to enjoy the game. — David Murrell in Fredericton.

    1. I’ve been a NE Patriot hater since Brady’s rookie season and the tuck rule. The media was able to change my mind this year and I rooted for Brady for the first time ever.

      1. Same here. The Globe and Mail, one of the main sources of politically-correct group-think in Canada, is in mourning today (Monday) because of the NE Patriot win. I think I will be joining you in being a staunch Patriot fan moving forward.

  3. I can see why the lefties/media hate the Patriots. Their motto is “Do your job”, no room for slacker/welfare bum type players on the team, nobody is carrying you. They got where they are because of preparation and hard work.

  4. Well … the RAMS entered the field assuming the “surrender pose” … hands up, don’t shoot Tommy Brady …

3-points … complete and total surrender. Way to go, Mr. Goodell … nice referee management. Nice commercial messaging … your PC Bowl was both boring and sickening. I long for the kneelers to return … if … the droning PC messaging can go bye-bye. However, since this was the ONLY NFL game I’ve seen all year … these multi-culti, multi-National, corporate sponsors didn’t receive MY eyes. A pox on all their houses.

    1. Nope. Just can’t do it. Leftist, SJW, PC media aside, I just can’t support Patriots and Brady.

      1. Me either … Goff is “my boy”. A white, hard working, supremely talented, young boy … from (of all places) the white leftist kingdom of Marin County. His ex-NFL father raised him right. And since he made a brief tour of UC Berkeley my (alma mater) … before going into the NFL and straight into a starting qb role on an “expansion” team.

How utterly contrary to the pc narrative of the game … each team with a supremely talented and hard-working qb from the cushiess of all-leftist, all-white, suburban enclaves in the SF Bay Area!! What happened to the salt-of-the-earth Pittsburg region NFL hero’s?? The blue collar tough kids … like Joe Montana for ex. I’ll tell you what happened … which is a much longer story … PAID qb coaching. All positions in the NFL have a network of highly successful PAID$$ specialist coaches who train RICH kids how to play and succeed in the NFL. Goff is a prime example, Brady to a lesser degree. If you do not or cannot afford to hire these professional coaches for your highly talented kid … you have little hope of ever making it into the NFL. The tough father who trained his kid to be a WINNER … has been supplanted by the Nanny Training League

  5. Absolutely worst Superbowl ever. Nice to see Gladys Knight, even without her pips. We did see Adam Lavigne’s pips along with all his grotesque tattoos. What was that all about? You can’t unsee that. Maybe they could get someone who can actually sing next year. I vote for Janet Jackson’s pips again.

    1. Mr. Lavigne’s Hometown fans all got stiffys when he tore off his shirt in the latest halftime wardrobe malfunction. The SF bathhouse glory holes went completely nutz. And who was that Boi singing in a big fluffy FUR jacket?? OMG … the PETA Twittersphere must have gone nutz. Or is it OK … for a black man to wear FUR? The Social justice wheel of outrage is so complicated to follow … *sigh*

  6. So Budweiser beer bought into the AGW koolaid and uses bird wackers to brew their beer.

I only watched enough of the game to realize that every commercial I saw had a SJW theme. First partial game I have seen in years and it will be the last for some time to come.

No more Buds in this house.

    1. Kulak:
I feel much the same. Always liked the Bud commercials with the Clyde hitch. The ones years ago filmed with Ed McMahon at Grant’s Farm in St Louis were great.

A Budweiser teamster at the time was a great friend of mine and gave me some insight into the filming.

This one starts off nice. Very pastoral. It quickly becomes an unnecessary social justice statement.

  7. I dont follow football.

The NFL has gone PC? Whata surprise.
The cfl beat them by decades.
