Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
It’s hard to fathom how the voters could support a party that has lost its collectivist mind.
Then I remember our last federal election.
On the hurricane: well, Obama slowed the rise of the seas. Trump is the opposite. Only a deplorable would miss that.
And Peter Strzok and Lisa Paige were working to prevent damaging leaks against Trump. Yeah, his lawyer said that last night.
And Justin wants to sign a trade deal with Trump. And build pipelines.
And I’ve got a parade square to sell you, and some harbour water.
This too is CNN…
“CNN Host Doesn’t Ask Swalwell About Attempted Stabbing of GOP Opponent”
https://freebeacon.com/politics/cnn-doesnt-ask-swalwell-about-attempted-stabbing-on-his-gop-opponent/
So. The media … assures us there was “no evidence” of a media leak strategy. Pay no attention to those text messages … they were sent late at night, after Strzok had a stressful day, as a joke, to his mistress. Can’t you take a joke? Say, did we tell you today, what a joke Trump is?
My God. My dear God in Heaven. When will this madness end?
I must admit, at first glance I assumed that “yes, you can blame Trump for hurricane Florence ” would be linked to a parody account like The Onion or Babylon Bee. No, it’s an actual story in a well-known paper by a real journalist. I suppose you could direct people to Dr, Landsea or Pielke jr. for more scientific, less alarmist research on hurricanes and GW but what would be the point. People who believe nonsense like this aren’t using the rational part of their brain, they’re afflicted with Weather Witch delusions, a much more primitive region of the brain.
Apparently, CAGW doomsayers really believe that 1)Trump has significantly changed the climate/weather in 2 years 2)That a carbon pricing and renewable energy will mean a climate/weather Eden that eliminates Hurricanes, floods, droughts etc. 3) they conveniently ignore the recent 10 year US hurricane drought starting in 2005 , the longest on record, that happened during a period of “unprecedented” global warming and depite predictions of hurricane doom in 2004-2005.
Catastrophic anthropogenic global warming, CAGW, is a hysterical cult and the Church of Progressives has simply substituted one personification of evil for another – conservatives instead of witches.
“Since ancient times around the world, the ability to control elements—including the raising of storms and causing rain—has been attributed to magicians, shamans, sorcerers, and witches. As early as 700 A.D., the Catholic Church prosecuted sorcerers for causing storms.”
You say that like you don’t “believe” in climate alchemy? Like you don’t “believe” the government drugs the population with contrails? Contrails that also change the climate?
Heretic! Denier! Stone him! He has blasphemed!
I watched a James Coburn movie ‘High Wind in Jamaica’ yearrrrrs ago.
I guess Donald caused THAT one as well.
p.s. if we DONT have hurricanes that ‘relieve’ the atmospheric pressure differentials, well,
it WILL blow up like a pressure cooker with the valve stuck closed. is there a magnitude 15 on the scale?
just sayin’ . . . . . .
I’m sure that there will be a research paper demonstrating that Trump is responsible for the Chixculub meteorite.
Ya his birthday was June 14, 66,000,000 avant l’ère chrétienne, he would have had to undergo a past life regression session to find this out!
Gosh, that explains the orange skin, serious comb – over, the super-size brain, girth, feet, and ego. And…nevermind…
Well, SHAZAM! He’s an old guy!
Re: 6:25 re: 2: 02 pm
Or is it he “would’ve had to have undergone”…a past life regression, rather?
Ya, my bad! Oops!
don’t worry , the next one will be volcanoes and then earthquakes, is there nothing this man can’t do
I can only hope that enough people are seeing through this…and it’s backfiring
If nothing else, this has made me realize how much low class trash there really is
I read a lot of the comments after the first link. No surprise to me to see that those who are convinced that Trump is evil incarnate are the exact same people who really believe global warming is the end of mankind. Gullible dupes.
Scary Trump and Scary Climate Change are sold by the exact same fraudsters. How any individual can STILL believe these fake news outlets, especially after they have been repeatedly outed as such, is beyond me. By now, I have personally witnessed hundreds and hundreds of examples of the media and their liberal overlords clearly and purposely misrepresenting news to push leftist agendas. Often without any shame or apology when they are caught doing it red-handed.
To that end, if CNN, CNBC, etc started pushing stories tomorrow that claimed Climate Change was indeed a fraud, I would have to start seriously considering the chance that it was real after all.
BTW, if they really have this burning desire to complain about politicians hurting natural disaster victims, the media needs to look no further than the Clintons and Haiti.
Nor can you blame the former government of North Carolina for the storm:
North Carolina didn’t like science on sea levels … so passed a law against it
In 2012, the state whose low-lying coast lies in the path of Hurricane Florence reacted to a prediction of catastrophically rising seas by banning policies based on such forecasts
Erin Durkin Wed 12 Sep 2018
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/sep/12/north-carolina-didnt-like-science-on-sea-levels-so-passed-a-law-against-it
But calling AGW a Chinese hoax, & passing various limitations on administrative science & policy regarding climate change, puts them both on the wacky side of the leger:

Think about how this will read in 50 years.
Yes, avoiding that fraction of a mm rise since 2012 certainly would have saved them.
https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends_station.shtml?id=8658120
Why in 50 years, they might be looking at a whole extra 3 inches in sea level.
Do you know what this means?
2.30 +/- .34 mm/yr
Sure. It means about 4.5 +-0.67 inches over 50 years. You’re playing gotcha over my estimate being off by about an inch over 50 years?
Think about how this will read in 50 years.
Yes, when Jesus comes back, we will all be ashamed.
Tim in the Green Mountain State:
Hehhehheh! You killed me with that one! That’s thumbs up!
Whatever your views on climate change, the idea that a president who has been in office barely 20 months somehow bears climatological responsibility for a hurricane occurring right now is ludicrous.*
This is the sort of mindset that makes the public wary of the whole climate change debate and hampers scientific credibility. It’s what I’d call “The Day After Tomorrow” argument. Remember that silly film? I’ll bet Tom Toles has the DVD at home.
* If such a ridiculous argument actually does make sense to you, then you are more or less forced to accept the equally idiotic premise that President Obama had a full eight years – 96 months! – to prevent such hurricanes and clearly failed.
So Trump can be blamed for a hurricane, but had absolutely nothing to do with the strong economy.
Need a frying pan and an egg, because a mind on drugs is the only way to explain such thinking.
CNN the Fake News Network called Trump stupid over his decision to dump the Paris Accord well CNN IS STUPID SO STUPID WANT TO KNOW HOW STUPID BECAUSE ALL THEIR NEWS IS FAKE NEWS
Millennium ago, the gullible would help toss virgins into volcanoes to stop solar eclipses. Anyone who said that was not going to stop it and it wasn’t necessary – and could prove it – were deemed heretics.
Today, nothing but the terms have changed. carbon taxes are the new virgin tossing. Instead of heretic it’s denier.
@LCBennett-Tom Toles is a political cartoonist with a degree from SUNY Buffalo, not a “real journalist”. I’d be willing to bet said degree has no connection to any physical science.
Trump, the omnipotent downgraded Florence to a category 1 before landfall. All hail the mighty god Trump for sparing the Carolinas!!
