  1. What is puzzling is that Facebook’s stock price has not declined in step with the monthly page visit decline. Its corporate revenue is increasing, given that, somehow, Facebook can extract increasing revenue from corporate advertisers even though readership is down. And given that Zuckerberg is following the ESPN playbook in attacking conservative thought, this will drive Facebook use even further south, as it has for ESPN. As an economist and small, retail investor, I follow the financial market closely. Anyone buying or holding Facebook these days is foolish.

    1. Plus, being a socialist entity, Facebook is not actually in competition with fellow socialist entities like Google, Twitter, Proctor and Gamble, Disney, …

You think socialists are going to let the stock price of one of the socialist standard bearers decline?

      1. Could you please elaborate how FB is a socialist entity? Aeroflot, TASS, Intourist, NKVD and Radio Moscow were socialist entities.

The military and police are socialist entities. I presume you oppose them.

(Disney was founded by a National Socialist.)

  2. Facebook drives out the conservatives. Conservatives are clearly 1/2 the population and tend to have jobs or businesses which means they have money that they earned themselves.

As an advertiser, would I want to do business with facebook when doing so clearly implies that I agree with their censorship practices and clearly think 1/2 the population is so repugnant that I don’t care to hear what they have to say. Seems a rather stupid thing to do.

    Facebook will crash and burn….

  3. Shrug.

    Facebook declines – good!
It’s replaced by something that better serves narcissists – not so good.

    1. That’s kinda the way I see it, too.

According to the article, they are shedding this traffic mostly to the benefit of YouTube.

Isn’t this about as pointless then, as say, cheering that MSNBC took viewers from CNN?

  4. Just maybe their traffic is down because they have been proven to be duplicitous on a ongoing manner. Their CEO and founder has character issues. Some people still find that distasteful in this modern world.

    1. Character issues? Zuckerberg stole Facebook from the Winklevoss brothers, its real creators and rightful owners, with the assistance of a Harvard president (Lawrence Summers) that took the side of his fellow Hellenist over entrepreneurs of Christian background.

The Internet and the world might be very different today had Facebook remained in the hands of the Winklevoss brothers.

  5. Does anyone really give a rats (_i_) about Facebook/Twitter..? what was once a fairly decent platform for posting family pics etc. and allowing said fam to get together has become a Leftist Censorship Trap…say something or reply to a post where some cupcake is offended and chances are you’re suspended or permanently banned.

Identical shit on twitter as I came to find out. Perm suspension For simply questioning some persons obsession with Trans & abject hatred of Christianity…questions – nothing else. On a 2 month old tweet no less – which left me wondering who was going through my old tweets to find something to nail me with.?? I could only come up with 2 suspects – @GMbutts or @CathMckenna…leaning to Butts, the Heinrich Himmler wannabe.

So to see both of these Leftist – Socialist platforms going down would put a BIG smile on my face.

    Make it so # 1…

  6. Wow, it’s almost like markets work, thus obviating the need for government intervention into the business of a private company.

  7. This story is certainly timely for this thread….

Now YouTube Is Adding ‘Fact Checks’ to Videos that Question ‘Climate Change’

    https://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/08/10/big-tech-starts-to-censor-climate-skeptics/

“This new feature follows YouTube’s announcement in March that it would place descriptions from Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Britannica next to videos on topics that spur conspiracy theories, such as the moon landing and the Oklahoma City bombing. In doing the same for climate videos, the company seems to be wading into more fraught and complex intellectual territory.”

It won’t be long now that softer conservatives start to wake up and see that 90% of the social media that they support is run by devout enemies of their personal liberties. If a group of prominent Republicans, funds being the least of their challenges, were to set about enthusiastically developing alternatives to these ‘monopolies’, I think we could still win this leftist coup against western civilization.

It seems embarrassingly obvious to me that the most effective and moral way to take down these insidiously destructive bastards is with Capitalism, itself. Any western conservative now still using these cancerous sites must take time and reflect on what their priorities truly are, here. I have never been active on social media, save the odd blog posting, but would enthusiastically support a strong conservative owned/managed site. Ha, let’s just say I’ll be watching to see which conservative ‘bandwagon’ rolls the furthest before I jump on.

  8. Once again … I am a statistical oddity. An outlier. Never so much as surfed onto anyone’s Fackebook Page. Never joined Fackebook. Don’t give a shit about Fackebook.

    1. Kenji, same here. We have enough facts and evidence about Facebook’s ongoing disingenuous activism to unquestionably know that their publicly unspoken mission statement is to kill conservatism in the western world.

I believe that any true conservative still supporting this cancerous site is now a traitor to the right. I simply do not see how that statement could be logically argued by any serious conservative with the politically targeted censorship we are witnessing from ‘Democratbook’ before these midterms.

BTW, I feel the same way about political conservatives who still support the unethical, virtue-signalling, America-dividing NFL. These social activist business entities are our enemies and are dedicated to destroying our very way of life, nothing less.

      PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THEM!

  9. There are several reasons I am not on Facebook:

First: I kept referring to the NDP of Alberta as … The Notley Dictator Party of Alberta – they removed all my posts/comments – I think they saw it and requested that it be removed.

Second: I spell Trudeau – tRUDEau … they do not know what to do with that because the spelling is the same. (Thanks to whoever on SDA that gave him that spelling.)

Third: I spell the Liberals – LIEberals, which has been removed from my post/comments.

Fourth: I am a Climate Change denier – they didn’t like how I shot down all the arguments for such a religion – thanks mainly to posts/information found on SAD

Fifth: I support ALL pipelines that would get Northern BC, Alberta and Sask. oil to a port and across Canada.
