    1. OMG! These, can I say, “people” are SO bent! If I hadn’t seen it, I wouldn’t have believed it.

  1. Who cleans up after these “horses”? Far worse than a REAL horse apple …

Kate? You show dogs … perhaps you can bridle Lance and “show” him? Can he whinney? I’ll bet you could even airbrush Appaloosa spots on his rump.

      1. Who knew Jenner thinks like a woman? I saw shim ‘live’ winning the Olympic Gold Medal for the U.S. back in 1976 at the BIG O Stadium, in Montreal. Those “legendary stems” performed their best that day. The crowd roared their usual cheers!

        1. Wow! That must have been a thrill! … seriously. Bruce was King of the Decathlon. I followed every event on TV. decathletes, IMHO … are the only legitimate “greatest athletes”. All others are just very good at their games.

Too bad that Bruce went from greatest living athlete … to a game player. Who’s not really very good at it.

          1. You bet Kenji it was a thrill to see Jenner win gold. The event showcased the best of the best doing their sprints, hurdles, long jumps, high jumps, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw and pole vault. When you’re there in person you get most excited as the crowd gets roaring. You quickly spot the outstanding athletes as the audience reacts. It’s difficult to explain but one tends to pinch oneself reminding oneself that they’re at the greatest games in the world, the Olympics. It is an extraordinary feeling.

The other events I saw were the Equestrian Jumps in which Britain’s Princess Anne competed. I saw her, but had to leave for other reasons. Also I saw the women’s gymnastics and I was about 100 feet away from Nadia Comaneci when she scored the first perfect 10. She was the youngest Olympic all round Gold Medallist, and won 3 Gold medals there. As one sees this ‘live’ one knows greatness when they see it. I thought she’s ‘got’ this. She was so tiny and youngish and fabulous. The crowd at the Montreal Forum went wild that day too, for her! There was a feeling of commraderie that day, yet for me, a feeling of sorrow for people from those Communist countries. I later was glad to learn she moved to the U.S. and left the Iron Curtain behind.

I mention 3 events that I attended and enjoyed, there was a 4th one too, but unfortunately I do not recall what or where it was. I do remember that I had hosted some Americans for a week. They loved it, but one got so drunk he missed everything! It was such a blast, no kidding, BOOMERS everywhere and the bars were packed every night too, Montreal cleaned up!

          2. What a ‘LIFE’ event to have attended. Agreed, I have seen a couple days of NCAA track and field events … It’s a bit like watching gymnastics … where multiple athletes compete simultaneously on different equipment and skills. The ideal sporting event for short attention span fans.

As far as seeing athletes performing live … I always tell the story about the first event I ever saw at the (then) brand new San Jose Sharks stadium … it was the Golden State Warriors -vs- Philly 76ers – 1996. I took my youngest son (a fabulous athlete himself) to see ‘The Answer’. My kid said we HAVE to see him play. The Oakland Coliseum was being remodeled, so the Warriors were temporarily playing at the Shark Pond. It was also the rookie year for this TINY little 76er by the name of Alan Iverson. OMG! Seeing Iverson LIVE was a revelation. His athleticism simply stole your attention. The game (an OT win by the Warriors) was completely dominated by the little guy. The only other time I SAW a live performance that equaled Iverson’s was when I used to watch Chris Mullin play for the Warriors. Watching him shoot the basketball was simply poetry in motion. The mechanics of his shot was the sweetest, most ‘mechanically’ perfect stroke I’ve ever seen. Every time the ball left his hands … it just looked like it was going in the bucket (a bit like Steph Curry today).

All of this to say that I know exactly what you’re saying about seeing Nadia Comaneci LIVE. Truly gifted athletes just ‘jump off the page’ and ‘turn your head’. Something like when a naturally gorgeous woman enters a room … and all the heads turn.

I smile broadly whenever a Cuban athlete successfully escapes their Prison-island (where the “wall” STILL hasn’t been torn down, Mr. Castro) and becomes an instant multi millionaire here in America.

Re: Drunk Americans: I am one of the 48 people in the US who LOVES soccer and is glued to the tube watching each and every World Cup match. And the thought has crossed my mind, while watching the Mexican fans with 20oz beers in each hand, spilling on each other … what it must feel like to get home only to realize that you missed the whole match, while puking on the fans seated in front of you … with NO memory of the actual match. Same thing with ALL the rock concerts I attended while sober … trying to avoid the contact-high of a uh, smoke-filled environment. In the case of the Mexican fans … it was probably best that they forgot about the match after a bunch of white stiffs from Sweden wiped the field with their team … ha!

Thanks for sharing more about great moments in sports…I’ll stick to sports for now, but these eyes have seen and heard a few rock concerts too!

Coming from a large city I also saw lots of N.H.L. games at the Forum in the era after expansion but only from the 1970s era. This would be the pre Gretsky era. So, the athletes included the great ones from the Montreal team and of course the greats on other teams who were their opponents. Some might know that this team cleaned up on Stanley Cup wins in several consecutive seasons at that time. The goaltender for most of those wins, also a lawyer, was Ken Dryden, who later became a Canadian Federal politician for many years.

As for other sport events, I also got to see another great sportsman play his very best before he unfortunately and sadly passed away. The sport was tennis and the athlete was American, Arthur Ashe. Bless him, he was absolutely fantastic. I’m sorry the name of his opponent that day, escapes me now. Heads were going left and right in unison, left and right, left and right. I don’t think he missed a ball! What a game! What a game!

P.S. Similarly when a handsome guy walks into a roomful of women, all heads turn too! ( unless he’s a Trudeau, then some of us, moi, close our eyes from the painful sight! )

        2. this just in:
the name jenner is a spelling mistake.
a trans (pun intended) scription error to be precise.
s.b. bruce gender. which one is yet to be determined.
or perhaps which several is/are/wtf yet to be determined.

          gawd, this is soooooo confoooosing . . . . .

  2. It reminds me of an old joke I once read: a horse race is like politics, except in a horse race, the entire animal wins.

  3. That is so funny! Heh heh Heh!
I couldn’t keep a straight face if I were there.
They are getting their exercise though and their kinky gear keeps the economy going in making this stuff and selling it.
They should have their own pavilion at the Stampede.
Where is ” Mr Ed” and Trigger? Somehow the theme song of the Roy Rogers Show with Dale Evans comes to mind!

1 2 & 3 : “Happy Trails to You, until we meet again.”

    1. Roaddog… just say ‘Whoa’
There exists an actual stop sign that says “Whoa” at Spruce Meadows in Calgary. It is very nice. I was most surprised, then again it is on private property.

  4. I’m not really a “breast man” however I did happen to notice that there’s no shortage of large breasted women in this video and simply wanted to state how pleased I am that these folks have some standards.

    And,

Is this event up for consideration as an Olympic event yet? I think they’d fit right in with the International Olympic Committee.

    And,

Kate, we don’t need to know what Lance was looking for when he found this or why you were looking through his “history”. It’ll all work out in the end.

    1. You ‘done’ sprrrrruuuunnngggg Monty Python on us, the originals of PONY PLAY, very funny.

  5. I said I was going out for a ride. This is not what I had in mind. My Kawasaki just barfed.

  6. How does this kind of information come to ones attention? Having said that, I defend ones right to become a horse. And who makes the clothing for such an event? Just asking so I know where not to go this summer.

BTW the horse that tried to jump the bar and landed on its back? I hope it won a participation ribbon that day.

  7. A subtle form of mental rape. I know I walked into it, but now…. the damage irreversible.
I feel dirty. Like a whore I continued to watch with expectations of a Trudeau like shiny pony knowing that this is the stuff he is made of. In the end I find myself a slut for imagery confirming my suspicions of the liberal mindset.
    The carrot was not there…..
But hay, it does inspire a caption!
    “Shiny pony meets plow horse.”

  8. Jesus H. Christ. It would have been nice if we had been spared that piece of perversion.
