Millions of dollars of federal funds for a failed carbon capture and sequestration project were improperly spent on liquor, lobbying, and spas, according to a watchdog report released Tuesday.
Summit Power Group LLC, which was awarded $450 million in stimulus grants by the Energy Department under the Obama administration, spent $1.3 million on “unallowable costs” including spa service, alcohol, first-class travel, limousine services, catering on a private jet and travel expenses to attend a charity event, according to the department’s inspector general.
The company also paid $1.2 million to consultants who were lobbying on behalf of the company’s efforts to change law related to how grant funds are taxed, the report said.
“”However, given the bankruptcy,” Winberg wrote, “it seems highly unlikely that the company will have the financial resources to settle any unallowable assessments.””

Don’t see the problem with where and how the scammers used the money. Isn’t that exactly what the money was intended to be used for all along? Isn’t the carbon tax, et al, Al Gore, a giant slush fund for the globalists to be used as they see fit, for entertainment and pleasure?
Look at all the “conferences” and “summits” which have been hosted in all the finest resorts, hotels and exotic cities all over the planet. I’m sure they weren’t just eating beans and rice and choking it down with the local tap water either.

Well, it takes quite an investment in “entertainment” $$$ to wine, dine, and schmooze, lobbyists and congressman. And then, there are the donations to the Clinton Foundation. It’s all quite expensive. And what are we talking about here ? A million and change out of $ 450 million? Meh. mere pocket change. How else will this company be able to secure their NEXT Federal Grant $$$$ for their work? When you aren’t part of the Free Market, and rely on government checks for your very existence … you need to splash the cash.
