  3. I have been interested in politics only since age 41 in 2001, before that I did not care about politics.( yup I’m 58 now )
    What I discovered and that I did not know before is that the less people know, the more they lean left/liberal.
    Of course there are well informed liberals but generally speaking people who know little and do not understand well the issues tend to vote left/liberal.

    I think that is because if you don’t know or understand, you vote feelings, and it’s easy to mislead and be misled with emotions.

  6. From my experience, many people who call themselves liberals are only that way because of the intense groupthink they are regularly subjected to. People who rarely seek out political knowledge on their own or question what they are told are ripe to absorb messages they hear repeatedly when there is never a contrary viewpoint offered. Then we get to the dedicated leftards like the trolls who visit here, who actually claim to be interested and informed yet display the same distorted view of reality that any victim of the lying MSM does.
    TDS is a debilitating mental disorder… please give generously.
    Despite the narrative often pushed by posters here, many lefties have busy lives with jobs and families, too. They simply lean left because that is what is consistently sold to them on the 6 o’clock news when they get home from work. It is also reinforced by all means of propaganda from Hollywood to music to even the NFL. Do not ever underestimate the power of the herd mentality in marketing. That great stacked display at the end of the aisle? Is it really such an undeniable bargain that it looks half sold-out already, or was it purposely stacked that way so you would ASSUME it’s a great buy because ‘everyone else’ must think so?
    Anyways, this all boils down to what I have been preaching for years, the parties have hijacked the power that is supposed to belong to the people. Dividing your citizens into polar opposite ‘gangs’ is a pretty sure-fire way to kill any nation, IMO.

  7. very very consistently, the whole time I attended university, that leftist nursery, I noticed leftist don’t even *attempt* to comprehend an opposing viewpoint.
    they just wont. you could see it in their eyes, their penchant to interrupt, avoid the question, spew bafflegab, on and on. so I stopped trying.
