2. Pennzoil. I once knew a rich guy who invested in Illinois oil. That surprised me. The US oil industry started in Pennsylvania and Canada’s started at Petrolia, Ontario, possibly earlier.

Men jumping and down on spring board to pound a drill point in the ground. Lambton men went all over the world opening up the modern economic miracle of hydrocarbon energy

   3. There was a shale oil industry in Ontario on the south shore of Georgian Bay. They literally cooked the rock to get the oil out of it. When drillable oil was discovered it died out because it wasn’t worth it anymore.

8. I grew up 20 miles north of Pittsburgh, PA, just south of Butler, PA (where President Trump was shot) and Zelianople, PA (where the exterior filming for the movie Night of the Living Dead, 1968, were shot).
   In my small town there was still one oil rig in part-time operation on weekends. We boys would play around the small area reserved for the oil well.
