She was highly likely to LOSE in November if she won the primary…a 2AM ballot drop addressed that.

Polls generate the results the sponsors pay for.
They are used to try and shape public opinion, especially among those who want to ‘belong.’

I believe it was an open primary – any registered voter (i.e., Republicans) could pull a Democrat ballot.

Don’t throw too many flowers at him; he helped to create this. While he deserves some credit for speaking out, one should always keep in mind that he and others like him are only doing so because their special ox is the one being gored.

Those who ADD the last-minute … just the number needed … of votes … decide everything. Always … at the last minute … “found” … votes … doing what those ‘in-charge’ want done.

l made a posting at National Post comment site suggesting a way polls can be manipulated.
has to do with mathematics of probabilility; the client keeps paying for poll after poll after poll, hoping and expecting that ‘on average’ that ‘1 in 20’ aka 5% of the time the results are way off.
BUT *that* ‘way off’ result is the numbers they WANT them to be , so THAT is the poll that gets published and the hoped effect of influencing the vote then occurs.

Well and another of their tricks is to post giant headlines when they are talking about on-line, self selecting polls which are meaningless. My rule of thumb is if there isn’t a margin of error posted (or if they use an “implied” margin of error, the poll isn’t worth a pitcher of warm spit….to steal a line from LBJ.
