What did you expect? It is an NDP government. My last job before retirement was working for a farming group in Regina. I was the only Conservative and I was hired to “help” with accounts receivable and invoicing. On paper, they looked rich, but had not bothered to collect the AR arrears. I channeled by inner “Ernestine” and got the accounts to within 15-30 days (as per the credit terms). There were 2 other competent women as well. The NDP board hired an accounting clerk who pretended to be a controller and a new general manager. I and the 2 competent women were let go after 2.5 years. The group quickly reverted back to being poor but rich on paper. Then another group of incompetents came in except they were very competent at grifting and managed to almost bankrupt the group. This all happened in the space of 5 years.
NDP people are very earnest and well-meaning but do not have a clue in a handbag as to how to run a business.
“NDP people are very earnest and well-meaning but do not have a clue in a handbag as to how to run a business.”
And they don’t want “a clue”; because the clue is capitalism.
My many Vancouver friends are confused about why their taxes keep going up and yet the city and its services continue to deteriorate. This is Exhibit #1 as to why.
