  1. I’m not adverse to conspiracy theories per se; however, the JFK assassination is a bridge too far as conspiracy theories go. If it was so damn easy to kill off a POTUS in 1963, how’s come it hasn’t happened since? The Dallas police were the very first to investigate and gathered the vast majority of the physical evidence….and concluded that LHO was the killer. Done deal. In the 50+ years since then, how much new physical evidence has been discovered? Zero – despite this being the most studied/investigated shooting in human history. This is political plain and simple: JFK has to be the victim of a conspiracy because that makes him a martyr. If simply a left wing loser took him out then the mighty JFK is just an unfortunate a victim. And by the way, my brother was in the USMC. His shooting skills after Parris Island were awe-inspiring….no joke. And one more thing….the beauty of conspiracy theories is they’re non-falsifiable positives: everything/everybody is part of the conspiracy, therefore nothing/nobody is part of the conspiracy. For example, the lack of evidence just means the evidence was destroyed! Yay… Proof of a conspiracy! See how that works?

  2. conspiracy? pffft.
oh, by the way, howcum the authorities didn’t dig the bullet fragments from John Connolly when he checked out?
oh. right, they couldn’t get *permission* from the fambly. in one of the most notorious murders in the past century, still more hard FORENSIC evidence is passed up because they couldn’t get ‘permission’ and jeepers, shut up about getting a search warrant or the like . . .
google it. conspiracy? shut yo face ignoramous.

  3. I’s hardly the case that everybody in Europe wanted to avoid war in 1914. Had that been the case, there’d have been no war. It might be closer to the truth to say that no one wanted war, but even that isn’t quite right.
The Austrians definitely wanted a war against Serbia, and were bent on having one. The Germans didn’t exactly want war with France and Russia, but they were confident that they could win one if it started right now, and not all confident that they could win it in the future. The Russians didn’t actually want to fight a war, but they wanted to declare war, in the expectation that that would motivate the other powers to sort things out before they’d actually have to fight. And of course the French were simply invaded and never had the choice. Generally they didn’t want a war, but wanted even less to back down if threatened with war.
I must admit I see no reason to doubt that Oswald acted alone. Such as we’ve seen from the Soviet archives shows that they had nothing to do with it and were taken completely by surprise, so if the Cubans did it, they acted without telling their bosses anything, even after the fact, and it’s the sort of thing the boss would want know about.

  4. Hi ebt, great to hear from you.
My thoughts are that it was organized crime that got the assassination plan rolling. There was likely some wink and nod coordination from the CIA. LBJ’s role was only after the fact. He was corrupt and power hungry. He hated Kennedy. His prospects with Kennedy as president were not great; jail was a real possibility. His job was to ensure that the truth wouldn’t see the light of day.
Lee Oswald was a a patriotic marine. There was no event in his life that would be a catalyst to turn him against the US. His travel to the Soviet Union etc was typical of CIA assignment. In my opinion, there was a lot more evidence to convict Donald Marshall or David Milgaard. How in the world does an organized crime guy like Jack Ruby get so upset about Kennedy’s death that he goes to the premeditated effort to shoot Oswald? To me, none of the purported evidence about Oswald being the assassin makes sense.
    Thanks!

  5. You’re a breath of fresh air in a smokey barroom.
I get so bloody fed up of watching all those warped reports, boggled investigations and books that are written but for one reason, to add another volume to the pile of 4500+ titles that have been written on that topic since Nov of 63.
How else was the USA going to react when a guy like Lee Harvey Oswald, a box boy in a book depository, could take down the most powerful man in the world with a $29.95 rifle that was ordered from a surplus store. By concocting dozens and later hundreds of conspiracy theories, they took the focus off Lee Harvey Oswald and instead blamed the CIA, the KGB, the US Secret Service and the FBI. One theory had the RCMP planning the murder.
Whatever motivated Oswald was laid to rest by Jack Ruby two days later. Ruby was questioned time and again, and even when he was facing death by cancer never admitted to having been a part of a conspiracy.
