1. What difference at this point does it make ? Our Nobel Peace Prize winner president has said he’s got Al Queda “on the run” The Arab Spring is breaking out everywhere … just as Obama and Hillary so carefully planned.

4. Years ago, I read about Stalin’s purge of the Soviet military. Nazi Germany prepared the future battlefield for their attack on the Soviet Union by allowing Soviet agents to intercept phony documents showing collusion between the Nazis and the Soviet officer corps. The stratagem worked better than they could have possibly imagined. Stalin decimated his army’s officer corps in the hunt for traitors, immeasurably weakening the defenses of the Soviet Union. When Germany invaded, the Soviet army was in disarray and suffered huge losses of men and territory. Stalin did not require proof; it was enough to create suspicion.
   Let’s hope smart people somewhere are doing something similar with the jihadis. It’s by far the cheapest, safest way to harm your enemies.

7. Everyone loves their cell phone. I suspect the US has 1,000 Arabic speakers monitoring conversations, putting names to phones and monitoring their movements. The US likely uses GPS coordinates from their own phone to find them. I suspect actual spies may be limited.

It just goes to show that the validity of the “precautionary principle” is wholly dependent upon which side of it one falls. For ISIS, I would highly recommend that they continue to apply the “precautionary principle” and extend it to friends, relatives and remote acquaintances of anyone who may be under even the slightest suspicion of treachery, disloyalty or even a transient lack of zeal for the cause.
