  1. packing them together dramatically increases CRIME for a number of reasons,
economic stress, convenient victims, easy communication with gang members.
’15 minute cities’ is DOOMED to fail right from the start.
    well guess whut.
the elites KNOW that!!! its part of the plan!!!

  2. I’m far less concerned that “smart” Flock cameras will be used to record people protesting … documenting crimes associated with that protest … than I am about a willfully DUMB government pretending ANTIFA isn’t a real thing and doing NOTHING about the crimes committed by that “non-existent” entity.

  3. Pick one thing, do it well. Then move onto the next thing. That’s how you get it done. And you don’t need to surveil people to achieve a number of things smart cities promise. Governments have been monitoring traffic flows for years without the need of compromising a person’s privacy for example.

  4. Video was good explaining the problems with smart cities – over budget, over promising, not getting community buy in, suspicion of mass surveillance.

I think suspicion of government motives regarding mass surveillance is the most important. Covid policies and the persecution of the trucker’s convoy revealed the Canadian government’s motives. Governments won’t go after actual criminals, they’ll go after those who question their political policies. Violent and repeat criminals will continue to get a free pass in Canada.

In reality, the criminals who commit the majority of crimes come from three groups : common criminals, corporate class criminals and corruption of the political class. Go after those groups first and then there will be very few violent, property or financial.crimes.

    1. If you take care of the political corruption the other two types generally get taken care of as a natural consequence.

  5. Remember when Pierre Trudeau said you didn’t have to speak French, you could just shut up.
Again, you don’t have to eat bugs, you could just starve; but most certainly, shut up about it.
