      1. One more factor is at play in the intersection of trust, diversity and wealth distribution, and it’s newcomers badmouthing the country they’ve came to and trying to reshape it more to their liking.

        Time was immigrants to both the US and Canada praised the two countries because of the opportunities afforded them and tried to meld as best they could.

        1. Time was, immigrants came to America (or Canada) to become an American. Now, they come to be in America. We have large chunks that refuse to melt into the pot.

  5. Not a tip but an observation.
    I live in a small town between Toronto and Montreal, in recent years it has become a stopping off point for many “new” Canadian travelers, this weekend is no exception. Some of these travelers are stopping for a break and perhaps a coffee others are booking into a hotel for a night or two to enjoy the local surroundings. Standard stuff, right?
    However…I have never seen so many new cars in my life, no one is driving even a ten year old car or truck, they’re all new. At the 10 unit charging the EV’s, mostly Tesla’s, line up for replenishment, again most appear to be “new” Canadians in new cars. I say this only because they never speak English…or French. They always flow through the adjacent stores in small groups, never alone. They always seem fascinated by the products and are constantly picking up items looking at them showing them to others even smelling them and putting the item down.
    Over my 70 plus years in this country, I have never seen the weirdness I see here daily in my Tiny Town. I guess I’m just stuck in the 60’s.

    The above Blacklock’s oink is four years old, but describes how deep David Skok’s The Logic news is in deep with federal government payola. The tip here, from Peter Menzies’s The Rewrite, is that Mr. Skok’s wife Alison Loat has just taken a job as a senior advisor with Mark Carney’s PMO. Mr. Menzies says Skok has claimed to recuse himself “from nearly everything” at the Logic. As if.

    I did a check, and Alison Loat has donated mucho dolares to the federal Liberals over the past 20 years. She has a background in working in good governance institutes. Good governance?
