only doubled? I’ll argue that our best case is ~$300 million per kilometer based on all the rail projects in progress and completed in Canada since 2015. Not sure how they came up with the $60 to $90 billion price.

WHY YOU CANT HAVE NICE THINGS! So when the highspeed rail cost was announced ,I applied the TMX pipeline metrics and predicted a cost of 540 billion. This ,of course , didn’t allow for hidden cost due to creative accounting on either project. But buying votes and grifting isn’t cheap , much like airline catered meals. Standing alone these boondoggles are survivable. Given the multitude of build back better and stronger, they are not. They are stealing your money and your life.
