  1. Let’s see you enjoy your snowbird lifestyle with a Canadian dollar which will be worth 50 cents U.S. (if you’re lucky) once Trudeau, Wynne and Notley are done with it.

  2. Wynne said that if the CPP was improved she would probably ditch the implementation of an Ontario Pension Plan. So looks like Ontarians are going to gain another huge bureaucracy which will funnel our money into Liberal patronage schemes.

  3. Not a bad article considering Counterpunch generally thinks Fidel Castro is a right-wing revisionist. It does specify the promised changes, which are/were all aimed at the bottom of the income scale. It also calls out the NDP’s ridiculously bad campaign, which is hard to argue with. The current NDP is so pathetic that it is literally bad for democracy — nobody is representing the economic interests of the wage-earning population.

  4. they got Grubered???, Obungles did send his “advisors” up to help out. Butt worry not, Turd-a-loo will keep one promise, to legalize dope!

  5. It probably would have helped to have pointed out that this is the same old liberal party BEFORE the election instead of focusing on a hair cut.

  6. The writer identifies himself as a “peace-loving” Canadian. I say to H*ll with that. Trulander has done two good things – or maybe has done them – keep the CF-18s in Syria (probably because Obama asked him to) and cancelled the F-35. No doubt the latter was due to malice, but still it is a good idea.

  7. Never forget, people go mad in crowds, but sober up one at a time.
Having developed an immunity to the koolaid, I did not forget the Lieralls methods or ignore the simple fact; “Same thieves different frontman”.
The media sold canadians the Turdeau Two package.
they own this product and are responsible for its deadly deficiencies.
That “angry old conservative” so mocked by the media, who called them lying pieces of excrement. really should get the Order of Canada.
What the hell, happy new year, remember there is one born every minute and that the gullible like to be gulled.
how else could the parasites have come to dominate our country?
That ,vow of poverty thing, in the tax code needs some thought.
The bureaucratic overreach is now so bad that WCC wants a piece of you if you voluntarily help your neighbour.
Canada Revenue knows better than you what your time is worth and how you shall conduct your business.
But these minions of “authority” never leaves the public teat.
    The comedy of 2016.
Never dos and no hope of ever doing so, will administer the “economy”.
Government “Investment” will bring about a new green industrial revolution.
Such “successful” bureaucracies will now extort more than 50% of the return on your labour, to continues the work they have carried out so well.(See national Debt/unfunded liabilities)
    Good Government.Healthcare.Law and Order.National Security.Edumickation.
    Successful by bureaucratic standards only.
Good God, when do we start getting our government issue Soma(Free Dope)?

  8. Too bad for you, CARPers. You are not one of the Liberal’s favored groups — not like Natives, Unions, Muslims, Warmists, the UN, etc. You will have to go to the back of the line.

  9. I don’t understand how anybody fell for Tru(annoyed grunt)’s bull during the election campaign.

  10. Check out TrudeauMetre.ca. They purportedly keep track of Trudeau’s promises made and broken. Not particularly accurate as far as I can tell.

  11. they learned the trick from Dolt McGuilty.
    google his record.
lie after lie after lie. big promises broken with regularity. I don’t even care to cite examples, it just angers me.
re response from ontarians is more of the same. if only the Conservatists had offered up anyone better than the chipmunk string puppet Hudak.

  12. It’s one of the oldest cliche’s: You can fool some people all of the time.
From the article: “It was hardly an example of the federal leadership that Trudeau had promised during the election campaign.”
    Ha ha ha…indeed!

  13. It’s sad to see seniors and boomers get played like that; they really should have known better. No worries they get to pay for government free stuff and offload future tax increases on their children and grandchildren.
No wait, their grandchildren? How is that acceptable eh? Like I said I thought collectively as a voting bloc we were too smart to be bribed with our own money. We actually are, except for the disengaged idiot boomer version in Southern ON. Unfortunately their stupidity was decisive on everyone.
When one deals with politicians and fails to think things through, all the way through, they shouldn’t be surprised to be lied to and made to pay more, and more and more.
ON has done it for four straight elections, will the rest of the country follow suit?

  14. So CARP feels betrayed do they?
    Ahem….you where warned.
Now go sit with the rest of the soon to be burgeoning horde of disappointed useful idiots once Leisuresuit Larry continues his attempt at being PM for the next four years and he misses all of his self imposed sky hi expectations.
Next up, are the Ontario liberals when they find out the cheque ain’t in the mail in time to keep the creditors at bay.
You know this is reminiscent of the Martin government. The liberals had such high expectations of Paul Martin and how he was owed a chance to run things, and then he turned out to be the conservatives best friend as he drove the liberals into the ditch.
Its deja vu all over again.

  15. Well, the Canadian Association of Retarded People got exactly what they voted for. One would think that after all these years and all the elections and sitting governments provincially and federally that they might have seen a pattern. Apparently age and wisdom are not necessarily joined at the hip replacement.

  16. Bongo made 350 promises according to the National Post. He has little intention of keeping any of them. He got what he wanted . Power.
The last big Librano majority featured chretien playing the part of Sepp Blatter
to a FIFA like liberal party. Bongo’s term will be a redux. Let the stealing begin.

  17. welcome to the new world order, tell them what the polls say they want to hear and put someone in who can say it and act out the passion and you have power. This is straight out of Obama and Wynn/mcguinty playbook. I will bet that polls in Ontario say the Liberals and Conservatives are tied or the Liberals are leading. People don’t care about numbers, they want things and even the perception of getting things for free. The federal and Ontario/Alberta Conservatives better get their act together because things have shifted and not for the better.

  18. Here’s my short wish list regarding pensions:
I hope everyone who voted for Trudeau dies before they reach the pension eligibility age (67 or, even better, 65).

  19. Is it not in the “progressive” playbook to euthanize granny when she gets too expensive?
I thought Quebec had already passed legislation for this.
Voluntarily of course, or with the help of your legal guardian at the Department of health and welfare.
CARP, what a perfect acronym , figures the government is their new best friend?
Liberal position, we fully support an inflation adjusted pension.
Every time prices for commodity goes up, yank that item from inflation index.
    There is no inflation.
Wait until the tax on RRSP’s kicks in.
CARP will really get to carping and crying.
Negative interest rates, estate tax and asset tax, cause guess who has easily identified wealth and no power?
Sorry CARP, you knew better, I will sneer at your whining.
    Don’t Blame Me.
    I voted Conservative.

  20. They claim to be “non-partisan” but if you dig into the whois records it’s pretty clear it’s a liberal site.

  21. CARP is a bunch of suckers, just like 67% of the rest of the country.
The Liberal trianwreck is gathering speed.

  22. “Wait until the tax on RRSP’s kicks in.”
ooooooh boy oh boy oh boy.
wait for the ‘outrage’ when THIS ‘appens. oye.
my guess, @ some point, the withholding tax will reach well into half. 50%, poof!
it occurs to me, gubbamint is a form of bullying.

  23. This is only the beginning. These fools who thought they were electing a savior are going to look as stupid as they are before the next election that we can only hope gets rid of that feckless little shit and his gang of unicorn riders.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for legal pot any time soon either.
These boys and their 2015 gals have big spending plans and they don’t have much to do with Canadians other that to save us from global warming whilst importing thousands of potential jihadists with their open heart nonsense.
It’s going to be an insane four years.

  24. So C.A.R.P. took the Trudeau Liberal bait, hook, line and sinker, and you can’t afford to live on the Trudeau CPP pension?
And hundreds of thousands of immigrants are taking the part-time jobs you could do.
Fear not, the friendly Trudeau Liberal government will pay for and administer your early exit from the government dole, via gov’t. funded “voluntary” euthanasia.
The heat from your cremation will be used for co-generation of electricity and reduce your lifetime C02 emissions by… 20 years or so.
Remember, a green death is a happy death at the altar of Gaia…
Oh, update- the too poor to live gov’t. 1-800 hotline for assisted suicide will be answered 24/7/365, and is now outsourced to operators standing by in Raqqa, Syria.
Their first question for callers will be: “So, do you know how to drive a truck?”

  25. Anybody who believes one word out of the mouths of these a$$holes is a complete moron. Middle class….get ready to get screwed REAL BAD.

  26. There’s a reason the Cons moved the pension age to 67, and there’s a reason the Chretien era Libs cut the pension too.
CARP thinks that reason is amenable to an election? What idiots!
I’m actually rather pleased to see the Pony break that promise. It means the boys running the sock puppet that is Justine might have half a brain hidden somewhere.

  27. as a very old fart I will say I am pleased that my fellow travellers are getting the liberal shaft. voting for someone because they tell you they are going to give you something, that they have to take from someone else, is a non-starter for me. you equally old farts got what you deserve.

  28. Whether it was deceit or (more likely) incompetence doesn’t matter. I feel relief that these Liberals are just going to showboat and accomplish not much of anything. The jets are still bombing ISIS, the Paris Climate Summit was just showboating…again…thank God. Now the pension thing is “on hold”. This is also why we needn’t worry too much about the electoral changes that are proposed. It’ll be lot’s of roundtable talks and then the Liberals will get bored because nobody is cheering for them, so it’s off to the parties with the selfie sticks again.
So far the only thing they’ve changed is some tax fudging (frankly the income tax cut is good for me so I can’t complain)
Four years of this and the country should be just fine. Bridges will be burned with Liberal voters who believed the hype. Bridges will be burned with NDP voters lending support. Meanwhile the Conservatives can spend 4 years sharpening the blades. Nice.

  29. turdo la doo: making Obammy look smart.
Liberal voters: making turdo la doo look smart

  30. The whole problem with much of the Conservative policy that Turdeau promised to dump was not, in fact, Conservative policy. It was bureaucrat inspired policy based on sound policy. Despite the promises, the Liberals, the party of bureaucrats, are not going to war against the bureaucrats.

  31. According to an article on a local news website, the OAS pension IS going up this year, by 57 cents per month.
Over a period of one year, that’s $6.84! That MIGHT buy ya a gallon of gas, depending on new carbon taxes, or 60% of a pack of cigarettes, for those who still can afford to smoke.

  32. CARP’ers got sucker punched by their choice for government, the lying Liberal cabal with front man Justin.

  33. Oh well, with the right to die legislation maybe there will be fewer folks the government will have to give pension support to… there is method in their madness. As for CARP…who cares…they got duped and the so called pension $$$ they were counting on will be going to resettle refugees, for years….the joke is on them but we will have a multicultural loving get along tolerant society under Turdeau…the only problem will be folks might not have enough money to pay their bills. And Turdeau will continue to make his fashion statement in “Zoomer”…I really dislike that pretentious magazine…
