Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Provided he was responsible enough not to have any sensitive information on his personal account, it’s a non-issue.
Knowing government bureaucrats, though…
Hacking into someone’s personal Internet email account is not a national security breach, it’s a breach of privacy.
If the CIA director placed classified material on his AOL email account, then he – not the hacker – is the one who has committed a breach of national security.
That does seem to be exactly what the hacker is alleging, though.
I’m reminded of #169 on the Evil Overlord List: “If I have massive computer systems, I will take at least as many precautions as a small business and include things such as virus-scans and firewalls.”
When the CIA has the ineptitude of the average Republic serial villain, we’re doomed.
If true, this is just more evidence that big government is (in addition to being immoral) incompetent; that this administration consistently appoints incompetent but partisan or neutered directors, and that America’s biggest threat to national security is currently living in the White House.
The pattern of the Obama administration of down-playing cyber security concerns is perhaps a reflection of his worldview that America really shouldn’t have enemies under his leftist and enlightened leadership, that all “previous” enemies were such because of Bush and the Republicans. Obama, considering himself as a fellow traveler of and socialists and Islamists of the world is on their side and that traditional Americans “clinging to their guns and churches” are the real enemy. It’s easy to see this as a potential reason for his apparent ambivalence or denial.
AOL account? It still exists?
Pres. Obama raised many eyebrows when he appointed a Muslim convert to head the C.I.A. .
So,maybe, he’s just keeping the lines of communication open, as per Obama policy.
Now infidel skeptics are raising a Raqqate over it.
Hopefully, by next year, the Americans will Trump that and Cruz to victory.
“You will find that the State is the kind of organization which, though it does big things badly, does small things badly, too.” — John Kenneth Galbraith
Those at the top in America are at the bottom of the intellect pool, maybe even the bottom of the gene pool. After this election Canada may be able to join them at the bottom.
Go back to paper and typewriters.
The CIA, like the FBI, exists to protect the political elite. They couldn’t care less about the great mass of people.
It is nice, though, when one of them is caught out.
“If true, this is just more evidence that big government is (in addition to being immoral) incompetent”
Here’s hoping the Russians and the ChiComs are equally incompetent.
(I doubt it, when their people screw the pooch there are consequences)
First, Social Security Numbers are not “classified material”.
Secondly, the US government (or Canadian or British or most any other country) does not place classified information on Internet sites, they use entirely separate, secure intranets.
You cannot hack into these sites from the Internet. If there is classified material on the Internet, it’s because somebody physically air-gapped it over there, somebody who had authorized access to a closed government system. Assange got PFC Bradley Manning to do this for him and Snowden did it himself because he had access to the NSA system. And Hillary Clinton? Well, it looks like someone in State was doing some air-gapping for her.
Unless more information comes to light showing that the Director CIA had actual classified material in his AOL emails, there is no story here, other than a hacker illegally gaining access to a private email account.
I don’t know which is more funny: a kid hacking the CIA director’s email account or the CIA director having an AOL account.
