Throughout history, cult members haven’t been accurate predictors of the end of the world. Such has also always been the case with Devout Leftists making predictions on . . . well, pretty much everything.
Enter one Jeff Rubin, a Toronto talking head who bills himself as an economist but has a rich history of making very bad predictions. Charles Adler interviewed him earlier today. The discriminating ear will find great hilarity in what this man has to say. From a psychological point of view, it’s particularly fascinating how absolutely shameless he is about dismissing his abysmal track record. One can only suppose that, because he’s mouthing the politically correct views about Global Warming, his credibility has been recycled. Some might beg to differ.

When people say, “even a broken clock is right twice a day,” you think of Jeff Rubin…. but then remember that he is only right once a decade.
I hear another Keynesian cult collectivist here , not a wit of Von Mises or Hayek Ruben is not progressive he is regressive in pimping economic theory that has been proven disastrous time and again – Keynesian spend thrifts and fiat inflators never learn – that’s regression.
Imagine if this guy made a living flying commercial airplanes or doing open heart surgery?
I haven’t listened yet to the interview yet but am anxiously awaiting to hear Rubin’s latest peak oil predictions.
LMAO
I particularly liked (not) his “I am explaining it all to you saps” vocal intonation. Look, it’s obvious.
False economies cause “bubbles” like green schemes for instance, and government “investment” and forcing lenders to give mortgages to people with no jobs or money.
Has the growing season really changed on the prairies. I grow some stuff west of Edmonton and my guess is it’s worse than 40 years ago. Spring never seems to come and stay. It snows and freezes until the end of May.
Mr Rubin sounds like a version of Gwyn Dyer, but without the leather jacket.
Robert, just a tip. Try ‘>’ instead of ‘[]’. You’ll like the results.
Good comment though.
That’s not what I typed, doesn’t want to show symbols properly. Use ‘less than / greater than’ instead of brackets.
Apologies for being a busybody.
This guy is brutal. I remember him shilling a book about $200 oil back in ’08 when he worked for CIBC World Markets. I looked, but couldn’t find the book on Amazon. He probably pulled the evidence.
Oil is King and will be for Our Lifetime

The only question is: Who will be the supplier?
As can be seen from the above link, most of the oil is supplied by state owned entities.
If these state owned entities were private companies, the practices that they are employing to corner market share would run afoul of anti-trust laws and they would be sanctioned for these practices.
But because there are states behind the companies which are doing these anti-trust practices, they are given a wink and a nod.
In times past, what these states are doing in regard to a strategic resource would be a casus belli for war.
I can only restate the above comments – for 10 years I went to a conference at which he delivered a keynote and predicted catastrophe. And was always wrong. So they stopped bringing him in and brought up Peter Lindeman who was on the money.
What scar and roseberry said. I’m surprised that Adler did not call him on bs. I farmed north of Saskatoon for almost forty years and nothing has changed. He is full of it.
