  18. While watching the BS on CNN, Sonny Hostin and Vam Jones are NOT experts on anything, except activism.
    Another reason that CNN is not a credible news source. How these two are even considered for commentary is beyond reason.
    One thing you can bank on, whatever they say, believe the opposite to be true.
    Also clear evidence that that part of the country lacks the ability to think. I’m no racist, but, what the heck is wrong with the black population there?

  21. I hadn’t tuned in to CNN for years, but I watched it – with an open jaw – for about an hour in the aftermath of the first riots after the shooting. It was repulsive. Van Jones and his cohorts were eagerly watching minor disturbances (raised voices on the street, or confusion about hearsay speculation at the scene) and almost pruriently appropriating every little sign that the violence they clearly hoped for might come to fruition. You’d swear they thought it was their job to inflame the volatile situation to the point where the unrest would spread across the country.
    Reporters should report on what’s happening, but not from a mob-mentality POV.
    An affirmative-action journalist is no better than an affirmative-action doctor or airline pilot. Putting on a suit and tie can’t make someone credible or moral or rational.

  28. Some of the journalists’ follow-up questions are absolutely appalling. They take it as a given that the decision is an injustice, that it doesn’t respect the black community, etc., and take it from there.

    Mark Geregos (sp?)half-shouted, as he got worked up to the point where he had to be cut off, “I’ll bet you his two assistants did not ask for a prosecution…This is exactly the result he wanted.”

  38. I would think all the (intelligent) business owners cleared out anything of value from their stores days ago, when they boarded everything up. Having been caught short the last time, they were at least forewarned today.
    As well, I’m sure police have been around to tell them rioters are a Federaly protected species, and any use of force to protect property will result in an MRAP armoured vehicle driving through the front windows.

    Seriously? You don’t think that perhaps anyone trying to defend their property or stand their ground while armed would be a first target for the camouflaged storm troopers? Hate to break it to you, but cops will always go after anyone who threatens their monopoly on violence, especially if they do so in the name of old fashioned outdated ideas like property rights and even more so if they do not belong to a protected minority.
    Get out, collect insurance, start your business elsewhere is the only option the store owners have now.
    But then again, these are people who were dumb enough to start a business in a hood in a first place so all is possible.

  41. So, in the first paragraph of the article we read that a white police officer shot an UNARMED black man. I understand the unarmed black man was attempting to arm himself and had already beat the shite out of the WHITE officer to that end. After being somehow fended off he then decides to surrender? I guess the grand jury thought not. That’s all I know, I wasn’t there but neither was the media in the reporting sense, it was easier to piece together a jigsaw puzzle than to figure out what actually happened in this case. The lowest bar, the grand jury refused to indict, so now, unless new evidence appears, the matter is closed. Right?
    Wrong, now the civil rights trial can start.
    BTW I’d hate to be a shopkeeper renewing their insurance while all this crap was going on.

  42. So how about this, a modest proposal: since the cops can afford all the shiny tactical gear, all the camouflage, all the sniper rifles and all the armored cars, perhaps they could also afford cameras? Both in their cruisers and on their body.

    Because it could have turned out that a teaser or peper spray might have been a better option? Perhaps not, but we will not know it.
    Because cops do not want us to know it. Because somehow they are to be trusted and not second guessed. Ugh good luck with that.
    So yeah, let the civil rights trail commence. Maybe when they demonstrate a most basic effort towards accountability I’ll have an iota of sympathy for them.

    I just heard a Brown family spokesman passing judgement on the transcripts, which I’m sure he’s already read (sarc). Hi complaint, behind the “sarcasm” that leaped off the page, is the prosecutor didn’t present indictable evidence. He doesn’t says what that evidence and states that the police officer “indicted himself” with his evidence.
    No doubt they’ll be proceeding with the civil rights trial.
    What unethical creeps; justifying the surely resultant violence and property damage. The policeman should sue for defamation.
