Hey there, #cbcnorth Official Reader of News Releases – #Igaluit lives on diesel. @ammosher http://t.co/W77AXZc7nn
— Katewerk (@katewerk) September 21, 2014
Big tip ‘o the hat to Duke, who suggests Igaluit “demonstrate their true commitment by
shutting down the diesel generators for about six months or so.”

Will their march leave behind a trail of garbage like the one in New York?
Iqaluit with a q.
I’ve had the odd trip flying emergency loads of diesel to isolated communities either in the winter when ice roads are late going in or the summer when the sea ice is late breaking up. They don’t want their generators down for 5 minutes, let alone 6 months.
Are you still a climate marcher if you marched yourself into a plane to get there?
Naw. I’m certain a woman of such noble purpose would stand by her ideals and make her way so far north by means of dog sled, kayak, and walking. To fly there would make her a hypocrite and she is too strong morally to undermine her own cause, right?
Some people are so lost in their feel-good narratives that brain-exploding hypocrisy is worn like a badge of honour. Too bad that they don’t film something like “Naked and Afraid” in that part of the world and just for these kind of zealots.
Yeah stop the hypocrisy and go back to heating igloos with whale oil – oops – there’ s a PC issue with traditional lifestyles as well – oh well to show solidarity with urban white kid PC, I guess the only option for natives is self-actuated genocide through tossing evil white man technology and freezing in the dark for the cause.
Meanwhile back on Sept. 17 she is hoping for a warmer winter:

I am watching the live coverage of the NY Climate March … here are a few highlights so far:
-they are having a hard time finding people to interview who are not complete idiots
-main camera battery went dead after 2 hours
-(quote) we thought we brought enough power but we were wrong
-tanker truck full of biofuel in the middle of the parade
-complaints about the noise from the idling tanker truck
-complaints about the exhaust from the tanker truck
-complaints about the noise from the truck air-brake venting off every 5 minutes
-I am hungry , wish there was food here
-people powered bike presumably running a generator
-(quote) we thought we brought enough power but we were wrong
-cameras having a hard time finding the 200,000 – 400,000 people expected
-looks more like 10,000

Didn’t Iqaluit just go through an unseasonably cold summer? Who are these nutjobs wishing for a colder climate next to the Arctic Circle? Perhaps a $ billion would solve everything. Friggin whiners! I think they should go with solar power this winter.
Abusing the mentally deficient again Kate? Tsk. 🙂
…by means of dog sled, kayak, and walking.
Hmmmm…I think she’ll have to stick to walking. I mean, making doggies mush for ya must be pretty close to a hanging offence, and I’m sure someone truly tuned in and sensitive would never dream of using a conveyance that represented the ghosts of so many seals who surrendered their skins involuntarily.

More Climate march live camera
-(camera crew) we are powered by all green energy
-main camera batteries still dead
-we thought we brought enough power but we were wrong
-good thing we have our cell phone to keep recording the parade
– (Interviewer) … where are you from ?
– (Marcher) … Melbourne Australia
– (Interviewer)… did you travel all the way here to join the march ?
– (Marcher)…. No , I was already in New York
– (Interviewer)… so what brings you to the march
– (Marcher)… I am marching for the denier side
– (Interviewer)… Huh ?

(quote) …. we have unionists here , Bhuddist groups here , and even a group called … “queers for resistance against climate change”
hehe
I wasbthinking the same thing scar. Let them live on solar. Hell, its only 4 months of extra blankets, when the sun finally rises again.
Can someone twitter this UrbanDP relentlessly as to how stupid she is. After all, she is a guberment employee!
Is the Liberation Front for Judea there too?
Since we are talking Arctic? Okay – off topic. Frankin’s ships had engines and propellers. They were actually used railway engines.

More Climate march live camera
– we may have to stop broadcasting soon
– our backup camera battery is blinking
– we thought we brought enough power , but we were wrong
– so if we go off the air you know the battery died
(5 minutes later) …. we are out of battery power , so we are signing off now
(Earlier quote with a picture of a sweating guy riding in the camera crew parade float pedaling a human powered generator) …. we are running on green power here today in this parade
Live coverage has ended …. all the batteries are dead !!!!!!
HAAAA!!!!
love it !!!!!
.
I see all the usual suspects are out there, of course.
But, the Teamsters? The same group of thugs that drive all those belching spewing diesel trucks that “pour black coal”? So, they are demonstrating for their own future unemployment! Smart like Truck!
They truly fit in with the rest of the STUCK ON STUPID crowd.
Are the BC teachers there?
Silly question, they are no doubt giving up their Sunday to prepare the classrooms for the cheeeeldren.
This kind of cynicism can’t even beat fiction. These people are so full of hot air , if global warming was real they would be the cause.
For the last year or so I have been watching the Canadian weather on a regular basis. Iqaluit
has the worst climate in Canada, and that from someone who lives in St.John’s. Every other
place in Canada can be sunny and mildly warm, but Iqaluit wil be freezing under cloud. Vile!
What they need is not lots of oil but one of those French pocket nuclear power reactors.
Don’t forget about the ATV’s, snowmobiles and outboard motors.
…and big screen TVs…
and beer coolers
You need to re-evaluate your censorship filters when something that posts OK at Yahoo gets caught by your filters.
It’s ironic that these protestors continue to consume the products and services that wouldn’t exist without petroleum. They use plastics, ride the transit, drive vehicles, ride airplanes, heat their houses and hot water… the list is endless; all derived from petroleum to some extent.
They continue to consume products from countries that emit the greatest amount of toxic pollution and those evil GreenHouseGasses they believe are causing catastrophic GlobalWarmingClimateChange. Like with fracking, they’re not sure about the details, but their farcebook friends say it’s bad, so they do too.
The countries they like to buy stuff from contribute half of the world’s GHGs that they’re so concerned about. However the oilsands operations in the wilderness of Northern Canada is evil because it contributes 0.05% of the world’s GHGs, not 50%. The countries that dump half the worlds GHGs are OK because they make their i-phones, their solar collectors, their windmills, and all that fabulously disposable #$%$ they love to shop for.
There is a term for the condition when someone’s actions are inconsistent with their stated beliefs; it’s called hypocrisy.
Hopefully the twit has read all of the above comments.
It is simply amazing the stupidity that is churned out of the brainwashed universities these days.

Intersectionality will never stop being hilarious.
As will people who take it seriously.
