“When the President does it, that means that it is not illegal”

Looks like she missed one.

Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) announced the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) targeting of conservative individuals includes a sitting United States Senator. According to emails reviewed by the Committee under its Section 6103 authority, which allows the Committee to review confidential taxpayer information, Lois Lerner sought to have Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) referred for IRS examination.
“We have seen a lot of unbelievable things in this investigation, but the fact that Lois Lerner attempted to initiate an apparently baseless IRS examination against a sitting Republican United States Senator is shocking,” said Camp.

  1. “…against a sitting Republican United States Senator is shocking,”
    No. I am unshocked.

  2. Nothing “shocking” about this behaviour. The Excited States has gone into full-on Fascist mode. Crony capitalism, ignoring their Constitution, outright childish lying, and overall thuggish behaviour will result in the almighty dollar being rejected as the reserve currency if the world. At that point they will enter third world territory . . . . with Canada running right along side of them, tugging on its (our) forelock as usual. Only then will there be a hope of change.

  3. You knee jerkers might, just might, take a look at the basis of the report before you spew your hatred. You might be shocked if you really read the background and the stupid ignorance of Lois Lerner in calling for the investigation. She was even told by her own people that Grassley did nothing either shady or illegal.

  4. “When you strike at a king, you must kill him”
The IRS screwed up big time. Senators may hate each other, but they will all come together to destroy some one who is attacking a Senator or his Senatorial Priveleges. It is acceptable for the IRS to attack us peasants and serfs, but the IRS should know better than to attack their Lords and Masters.
    “This time it is personal.”

  5. Issa was considering giving Lerner immunity for incriminating testimony. Might be a little more discussion about that now.
I think Lerner will go to prison before testifying against the Regime and that her lifespan will be short if she doesn’t get the ‘unexpected’ pardon.
Tyranny is marching boldly across the globe thanks to a weak, untrustworthy US. Obama is not a lame duck either because he has no respect for the law. I can’t wait to see some of the Executive Orders he’s going to drop on them. Really, the only people who are terrified of the thug are American citizens, and their liberty is his enemy.
He will eventually be compared to Lincoln.
Lincoln freed the slaves. Obama slaved the free.
Good thing he’s doing great on the economy.

  6. comprehension not yer strong point I see. “but the fact that Lois Lerner attempted” is the quote, to attempt to break the law in a case like this should qualify the person doing so to be charged with dereliction of duty, which is what it was. Just because saner minds intervened makes no difference to the fact that she was going to “break the law” for political gain. KAPEACH?

  7. The concept of being about to be breaking the law is not against the law, as long as you don’t break the law. If saner heads intervene and she didn’t break the law, then the law was not broken, no matter how you hate her. I suspect that if thinking about harm to people who disagree with you politically is against the law, then I wan’t to be in charge of the thought police, and I suspect that you, like everyone else, are guilty of committing the harm you were thinking about. Lois Lerner has probably broken laws all over the place, but from what was described int he story, this wasn’t one of them, in spite of how it is perceived and spun. And no bureaucrat needs the whole Senate pissed off at them.
Old Latin had the perfect case for things like this: The subjunctive future perfect passive participle of “to be.” Translates approximately to: to be about to be going to be.

  8. “the person doing so to be charged with dereliction of duty”
The charge would be “under color of law”.
-In U.S. law, the term ‘color of’ denotes the “mere semblance of legal right”, the “pretense or appearance of” right; hence, an action done under color of law colors (adjusts) the law to the circumstance, yet said apparently legal action contravenes the law. Under color of authority is a legal phrase used in the United States indicating a person is claiming or implying the acts he or she is committing are related to and legitimized by his or her role as an agent of governmental power, especially if the acts are unlawful.
Yeah, I know. In these times, when the Dems cry RACIST at every turn, using the “under COLOR of” charge against Obama’s official would probably elicit a scandal in and of itself.

  9. There are a mere handful of crimes that I believe should carry the death penalty. This should be one of them.
Koskinen and Lerner should face capital punishment for this. In a true democracy, of course, they would, since citizens could float this as a referendum item, and we’d all get to vote on it….

  10. At the risk of beating a dead horse, all these “missing” emails are sitting on an NSA server. One would think that the NSA was listening to everyone in North America and Europe -except- Lois Lerner.

  11. “Issa was considering giving Lerner immunity for incriminating testimony. Might be a little more discussion about that now.”
If Issa gives her immunity it would mean that he already has her Hard Drive, such that he can be assured she tells the whole truth. (immunity is revoked if she lies..one time)
Cummings who was involved with Lerner in the targeting, will not want her to testify truthfully (civil lawsuits)
    IMHO
Obama can only pardon Lerner if he lasts to serve out his term. If he resigns old Joe would pardon Obama, but not the Lerner Group. The Democrats would go bat-shit
The Congress/WH have to quickly solve this problem or the IRS will be a dead agency
