There may be some small hope for the younger generation but by and large Muslims will never be compatible with the Canadian lifestyle. Hell, most Canadians aren’t even compatible with the Canadian lifestyle anymore. You are correct about the hopelessness of the press. Nowhere in the original news item did it once mention Alshaek’s status in Canada: Saudi national? Canadian citizen? Landed immigrant?
As to policy, there’s nothing particularly wrong with foreigners visiting Canada or taking up residence here, subject to our laws. I was pleased (and relieved) by the judge’s ruling which amounted to: your malevolent presence is no longer desired in our country, so get the hell out of here!

If cancelling 2 amendments saves 3,000 lives that is 1,500 lives saved per amendment annulled. So why not suspend the entire Bill of Rights if it can save 15,000 lives?

Fact citizenship should be done in stages, were you get a trial citizenship for 5 yrs, then renew for 10 yrs. if you kept your nose clean, and then maybe for your life time if you still qualified.
