  1. The parallels with Nixon are stark – the paranoia, enemies lists, spies everywhere, snooping on the media, media hit lists – and a whole lot more scandals.

  2. Obama has got away (so far) with a lot more than Tricky Dick ever did. At least Nixon was pro-USA.

  3. Precisely! A great deal of BS has been said about Nixon and Watergate. Nixon had his faults but he never went anywhere this far. His crime was not what was done but rather his attempts to cover it up. He was a great President, not a piece of garbage like Obama.

  4. Obama could have sex with little boys on television and the media and the rest of his drooling followers would deny it. Even the conservative media give him the benefit of doubt beyond my gag reflex threshold. Obama has no use for the truth. He is a progressive on steroids and to him, nothing else matters. The number of visits by thugs and operatives to the White House is evidence enough.

  5. Nixon committed no crimes other than being a Republican. Kind of like it is a scandal for Conservatives to pay back money to the government in contrast to the Liberals who stole millions.

  6. Watergate times a million.
When is Obama going to be impeached? These scandals are making every other American scandal look like spilled juice at a church picnic in comparison.

  7. It’s pretty clear that RMN did break the law. The break-in order will never be conclusively proven, but the tape exists showing that RMN was involved in the cover-up and thus engaged in obstruction of justice.
As to whether he was a great president – It would give him a grade of “B”. He did some important things on the international scene, but failed pretty badly on the domestic front – creating the EPA and introducing price controls to name just two. The element of greatness that he lacked – as did both Bushes – was a deep philosophical grounding in their political views.

  8. Nixon wanted the “evidence” the Dems had acquired, and tat evidence pertained to the kennedy slaying
lets see now…1947 Nixon intervened so that Mr Rubenstein did not have to go before congress….Mr Rubinstein = Claton Ruby…HLO’s killer
Ford sat on the Warren commission
GW Bush was photographed in front of the School book depository just after Kennedy’s shooting
Johnson supposedly had a shooter on the grassy knoll (that was #2 shooter on the grassy knoll)

  9. Actually, the quotation is “Those that don’t learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them” which usually results in the same behaviors being repeated.
