  3. Most Ontarians would welcome Toronto and environs separating from the province and forming their own.
    Call it York. All the homos, left-wing nuts and assorted detritus of humanity could all live in peace and harmony and let the rest of us get on with our lives. Folks from Ontario could commute to work in York and bring their salaries and wages back with them. Something like Ottawa and Hull.
    York would commence to destroy themselves with political correctedness and socialist policies and Ontario would thrive.
    I can dream.

    “The Toronto resident who first launched the lawsuit consented to Ford’s stay request earlier this week.
    In a statement issued by his lawyer Monday, Paul Magder said he agreed to the stay “to give the city of Toronto a measure of stability” while Ford’s appeal winds its way through the justice system.”

  11. All the parasitic, leftist, human garbage in Toronto city council must be seething about this. They probably thought that Ford would immediately clear out his desk and go without a fight and then the flood gates of cash would be thrown open once more. I guess they will have to wait a little longer for council votes for better pensions and a pay increase once Ford is gone for good.

    Look, Rob Ford was an idiot for sending out the appeal for charitable donations for his football team on City Hall letterhead and he should have understood the conflict of interest his voting on this motion represented. He definitely needs someone on his team to be Dr. No and tell him what’s prudent and legal and what’s not and make him toe the line.
    Ford should have had his knuckles rapped. But, being thrown out of office for this minor misdemeanor? NO WAY.
    Clayton Ruby’s wife, Madam Justice Harriet Sachs, is a colleague of Ontario Superior Court Judge Charles Hackland. Doesn’t this represent a conflict of interest in Ruby’s having brought this case before Hackland and the Ontario Superior Court?
    Why is there no hue and cry about this?
    That’s a rhetorical question, because we all know it’s OK for the Leftards to thumb their noses at the law and to overstep their boundaries, which is their MO, with no consequences exacted. It’s a funny ol’ world.
    I’m in Ford’s court on this — but please, Mr. Mayor, from now on, do — and be seen to do — the right thing at all times because your enemies are legion. Those of us who voted for you need you to be much more careful and respectful of the trust we’ve placed in you and your team. Most of us are not independently wealthy and can ill afford Leftard scavengers in office at City Hall. We need you to stay at City Hall to fight against all of the Leftist teat-suckers.

  17. batb, I’m with you on your recommendations to Ford. He’s not a debater; he has trouble sitting at a table and discussing an issue and working out a solution. He simply presents his point and that’s it; he doesn’t discuss it.
    Other councillors, especially those on the left, who exist heavily in the field of words, spend hours in the Council talking and talking and talking…
    I support Ford because his basic line is to support the taxpayer; give them the services they pay for and don’t allow their taxes to be swallowed by the Unions.
    By the way, I’m not sure that Ruby’s taking a case to the Ontario Superior Court would be, because his wife is a colleague of a judge on that court, a conflict of interest. After all, if that were valid, it would mean that Ruby would be effectively barred from taking ANY case to the Ontario Superior Court.

  18. @Timothy Friesen, There was no requirement for Paul Magdar to agree or aquiese to Fords re instatement.This was a lefty attempt to appear concerned about the “stability of the city”. What a crock of BS,this magdar maggot and the rest of those lefty cretins could not possibly care less about stability,in fact the exact opposite is true.Their goal is disruption not stability.

  20. ET, I thought about that conflict of interest thing with Ruby and his wife, too, and you’re probably right. Nevertheless, it still doesn’t smell right.
    Magder is a maggot and Ruby’s not any better. Neither one of them is concerned about corruption at City Hall, otherwise they’d have taken David Miller and a bunch of his cronies to court, and neither are they concerned one iota about “the stability of the city.”
    What an absolute crock.
    Their only concern is to hijack the democratic process and get rid of Ford, whom they can’t stand. I don’t mind that they really dislike Mayor Ford but I’m really pi**ed off that they’re willing to use the courts — and a judge whom Ruby probably knows well — to circumvent the municipal electoral process which returned a mayor whose views are diametrically opposed to theirs.
    In effect, Ruby’s trying to take Ford out, despite the fact that he was elected in a landslide. That’s something the Left really can’t stand. And that’s why this whole thing really stinks. The Left is apoplectic because a majority of Torontonians voted for Rob Ford and, rather than use legitimate means to unseat him, they use an unelected judge to do their dirty work.
    Their tactics are transparent and, like the naked Emperor’s tailors, they think we haven’t noticed and that they can dupe us.
    They can’t.
