The mindset behind this UN Gun Treaty is the same mindset that Stalin and Hitler had and is meant to control their populations and curtail or eliminate any possible opposition. Safety for the people is a smoke screen to mask the UN’s real agenda.

This kind of stuff is why I regard the UN as the biggest long term threat to liberty in the world.
They are a laughingstock in our minds, but too many people think the UN has something to offer in terms of moral authority. We may ignore their idiotic decrees, but somewhere an activist judge is loving this stuff, looking for a justification for their ridiculous ruling.
This stuff really worries me. Rather than mock it we need to fight it and take it up with our politicians.

So they are saying that IF the police fails to protect me from mugger/rapist/ the police itself, then they will be held to account?!
One prediction, their definition of “being held accountable” and mine probably do not coexist in the same galaxy.
After all, I have never seen bureaucrats being held accountable in the any serious sense for their manifold failures.
Seriously when the last time you heard of a bureaucrat getting zinged for wasting money? Or Prosecutors for harassing the innocent. Or the police for say, not bothering to get out of their car investigate a house where they were called and told “x” in progress.
I could go on ALL DAY about the state not being accountable in any real sense.
They can go to hell with their treaty and take the horse they rode in on with them.

Last time -I- checked, I didn’t have any rights at all, just privileges revocable at whim of a bunch of unelected bureaucrats. Because I live in Canada, and my generation sold our rights for Medicare and a bowl of pottage.
So maybe if we don’t all want to be vassals of the UN we better make a ruckus about it.
