A few years ago a ‘young and naive’ thirty five year old red headed female partner in a major law firm specialising in trade union business handled the settlement of a Fitzroy house purchase in the name of the union official with whom she was sharing reproductive fluids at the time.
The funds for the house purchase came from what appeared to be a union account (of which the union itself had no knowledge) but the law firm partner did not think to ask why the title was not to be registered in the union’s name..
The house has long since been on-sold but there is no evidence of any sale proceeds reverting to the union. It appears some half a million or more dollars were paid into the bogus union account by Theiss Construction in a legitimate transfer of state government grants for ‘training.’ Theiss thought it was paying the real union.
And she’s the current Prime Minister of Australia.

there ain’t no such thing as “honest union”, so what’s the story here???
Naive law firm partner? The University of Melbourne must have a terrible law program, failing to teach right from wrong. Maybe it’s just the lefty tendency to put their hands in the till. Maybe it’s like Canada where the Conservatives are constantly bombarded about honesty but the money never seems to end up in their pockets unlike the lefties.
I have nothing to do with unions, lawyers, or political power, so I’m not likely to have a union official offer me house rennos in return for sexual favours. But then, at 35 I wouldn’t have described myself as either young or innocent.
Can’t see any repercussions from this story; after all she’s so incredibly popular in Australia after she put Australia at the forefront of saving the planet from eeevil CO2. Aussies are likely to forgive youthful indiscretions as they happily pay for more expensive power and learn how to sweat again during the hot summers.

The intrepid reporter that was sacked jumped the gun. If he only knew that he needed to wait until the majority of Ms Gillard’s loyal party colleagues decided she needed to go?
The silly man thought that a good story would be rewarded. Well, the reward was not quite what he expected. I am sure that the powers that be will make it up to him, now that it is OK to tell the story. /sarc
Power, Corruption and Lies – an excellent New Order album BTW- but this is just sordid. Having a more than passing acquaintance with union hierarchy through Mrs. Junior I must say I am hardly surprised. It’s just a shame this didn’t come out sooner perhaps sparing Aussies her peculiar brand of ecotaxation.
She meant well, is down on the U.S. and believes in “Social Justice”. So she could have murdered millions, strangled her own mother for drinking money and still be a lefty saint.
We have a couple Premiers in the west she would probably get along with…although they’re having a make-believe cat fight right now. They’re all about extorting the taxpayer as well…
Desperation everywhere in this story, from that picture, and knowing what union people look like, it was a 2 bagger on the heads and the obligatory liberal brown bag full of someone elses cash.
Keep us posted on any new developments. This looks veeeeeeeeery interesting.
Isn’t that picture of a certain young Alberta Premier?
Surprise!
Just a little redistribution. Move on. Nothing to see here. I have nothing against unionism but BIG union’s only purpose is lining the pockets of those in charge of spending the member’s dues. It’s become just another racket and left wing politicians and union leaders are in it up to their chinny chin chins.
fiddle “We have a couple Premiers in the west she would probably get along with…although they’re having a make-believe cat fight right now.”
Clark is a cow who can’t overcome her personal projection of cow-ness and is using the old standby to win an election – defecate on Alberta. Strange coming from BC. Does Clark really want the Calgary oil money lined up against her. It sank Stelmach.
Heh, UN lawyer, union lawyer, same diff.
Julia Gillard is on the right side of gun control and the right side of the carbon tax, so little things like this just don’t matter, do they?
Easier to fire the reporter. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
She’s small-time compared to Barry’s Chicago real-estate transactions, but like the rest of the world, she’s catching-up to the number one nation on the planet.
So many great comments above, but oldfart’s one word sums it up.
What fiddle said @ 8:40.
Along with Obama, she’ll be gone in November.
Not a good time to be a leftist in the Western World.
I watched two individuals I knew fairly well, both of whom had never as much as run for dog catcher, essentially anointed as MLAs in BC because they were “labour’s” choice for the NDP nomination. They both went on to become cabinet ministers within their first term under Glenn Clark’s disastrous government. Both were bought and paid for by big unions.
Big labour is as close as one can get to organized crime without the Sicilian connection.
I hope that story has traction.
From the article at Kate’s link: “Some months ago an intrepid reported from a Sydney radio station got onto the story and gave it a run. The reaction of the Prime Minister’s department was apoplectic and within a short time the reporter had been sacked. No journalist has since dared attempt to run the story.”
Here’s a link to a radio interview with the reporter http://www.quadrant.org.au/blogs/qed/2012/07/alan-jones-interviews-michael-smith
Naivete has never been a trait of Gillard’s. That one was born a conniving snake. Bold-faced brazen liar, back-stabber, thug. Perfect for the Labor party in Oz. She’s been dubbed Australia’s worst PM ever and I hope this story finishes her off. Soon! My country can’t take any more of that destructive ilk.
Never liked Gillard from the first. Saw the arrogant, lefty maternalism every time she opened her stupid mouth.
At 35, and a law firm partner no less…..naive? That’s the best defense? That’s grounds for being disbarred, ‘naive’ or not!
Going a little off-topic, but……
Scar, as for Premier Dummy (Clark), she is grasping at straws, and is picking any fight she can, to try and make herself look good (and it ain’t working, BABE!). She is a terminal federal Liberal, whose only MSM support right now, is coming from another, committed, federal Liberal, Barbara Yappy, surprise, eh wot?
The anti-pipeline argument is so full of half-truths, BS, and unscientific feelings disguised as ‘fact’, it speaks volumes about the lack of intelligence in our society today.
Clark, is cooked, she has no cabinet support, the Conservatives have flocked away and won’t come back anytime soon, and the BCRail corruption case won’t go away, as Clark was central to all the players.
Dummy will crach and burn, and it will be fun for all, except the hangover (NDP government).

Thats a hell of a find, its even more indicting and puts a lot of meat on the story.
Hope it this breaks big and another nail in the coffin of the MSM and the socialists cabal.
Yes she is probably history at the next election, but we all need to ram home that every where in the world the left and its cohorts are corrupt, dishonest, disingenuous leeches both as individuals and organisations.
Yet another example where the leftists, despite being more self-righteous, are more corrupt than conservatives.
So remind me again why the Australian Government likes civilian disarmament…
Christy Clark’s got a skeleton in her closet, it’s called BC Rail. She’s in this up to her t-ts.
If this thing gets going it’s goodbye.
Communist Dippers are of course the most corrupt politicians. The more they cry about corruption, the bigger the take they are mining.
Read any Paper about any leftist politician if you don’t believe it. Even their followers know it .
They approve hoping some day to be appointed.
