  3. I found this rather amusing for two reasons. First, nobody bothered to show up for the protest. And second, over 180 comments on the story and I didn’t see one that called out the protestor for his inherent racism. They’re protesting residential schools and the guy is referring to “Indian time”. What delicious irony!

    On Sunday, uniformed and undercover police officers spent several hours awaiting a planned protest at downtown Vancouver’s Holy Rosary Cathedral.
    Protesters had planned to occupy the church during morning services in an offshoot of the larger protest called Occupy the Vatican, saying they wanted to call the church out on residential schools.
    But the protesters were nowhere in sight on Sunday morning.
    “We’re not here yet but we’re on Indian time,” said Occupy the Vatican protester Barney McLeod. “We’re not on the police time. When it happens it will happen.”

    When he is proven to be wrong on the legality assertion in the comments this is his response:
    “OMG. I give up. I’m talking about a COMMS strategy. Not a LEGAL one.”
    Thus he seems AOK with knowingly making a false legal assertion because he considers it a good “COMMS Strategy”.
    Sort of dovetails with his referring to the CPCs political communications efforts as the “Harper Death Kill Machine” in a post in his site immediately before the one above.

    Saw this on the evening news.
    Occupiers invite Nenshi to camp


    Mayor Naheed Nenshi exchanged words with Occupy Calgary demonstrators at Olympic Plaza Monday.
    During an interview with media, Nenshi said he and his council colleagues agree it’s time for the Occupy movement to move their tents out of the plaza.
    “It is time for the tents to move on and we’re continuing to have discussions over the best way to make that happen,” said Nenshi.
    As Nenshi ordered lunch from a food truck, demonstrator Brent Talbot asked Nenshi to camp with them, which Nenshi declined, stating he wouldn’t do so because it’s illegal.
    Talbot said the movement is growing to which Nenshi responded, “Wow, where are they?”

  7. Foobert. Here’s a longer video of the Calgary mayor answering to the protesters. Check out the protester near the end in the meditation pose. He’s one of the main protesters(he’d be in charge if allowed but that’s against their rules)and a serious drama queen. I watched one of their general assemblys last week and unlike the rest(20 or so)who just sat and listened he was bobbing his head up and down like you’d see at a religious event and his arms were up with his fingers wiggling(that’s when they agree)with anything said. If I didn’t know any better I’d think he was mocking the event. What a sad pathetic man.

    Not sure if this was on a previous ‘reader tips’ but the author was a guest on Gormley today.
    I need to give a shout out to Robert for the ‘message from the wife of an oil rig worker’. The ‘patch’ has provided a lot of farm kids here in Sask the opportunity to stay home with good paying work and still be able to farm. Having gone from a 96 JD combine to todays machines, I have very little sympathy for the OWS cry babies.

    Twice as many Tory MPs want Britain to pull out of the European Union as voted for a referendum last week, one of the leading rebel MPs has claimed.
    Mark Reckless suggested that as many as half of the 306-strong Parliamentary party – over 150 MPs – were privately in favour of Britain withdrawing from Europe.

    Now, add the National Rifle Association to the list of those clamoring for Holder to exit. The NRA has launched an ad campaign to urge the American people to pick up the phone, call the president and demand that he “hold Holder accountable.” The ad is a concise summation of the scandal that, somehow, has still yet to reach the eyes and ears of many in the lefty media (and, consequently, to reach the minds of those who consume mostly left-leaning media):

    The article linked to goes on to suggest that a sacrificial goat may be in the offing,,,Lanny Breuer, head of the criminal division of the DOJ.
    That matters in that the WH may be trying to circumvent an impeachment process against Holder.
    This debacle isn’t going quietly into the night like Oblameya had hoped.
